Very nice, grats.

Also, 273 = .85*322. So he was making 322hp at the flywheel.
Just another piece of proof that calling the (stock) 135i a 300 horsepower car is underrating it significantly.

With JB3 his engine is making (362.1 = .85 * 426) 426 hp.

You now have more power than a C6 Corvette

Curious--where? Performance Factoy mainly works on Z/Gs but I've seen them dyno an M3 and E55 before...

Central Florida Turbo wouldn't be my choice for anything, though they have produced some fast stuff here and there...

It will adapt and raise hp accordingly with supporting mods (ie. intake, dp's, catback, IC, etc.).

You'll get some gains from the additional mods but to maximize those gains you'll need a tune.

Everything I've read from "other forums" is that all maps are very stable and do not trigger CEL's. Verson 1.22 looks to be a very solid tune!!!

I believe the default is map 3. How do you know that you are on map 6?

Vette has 430hp or 436 if you get the sport exhaust... and it's lighter.

Pretty sweet power though for the 1

to the N54. That is just insane. I thought I was blessed to be able to get a gain of 50whp with just $700 in modifications (K&N Drop-In Filter, 3" TBE, & Tune) on the 4G63, but 90whp with JUST a tune!? That is unbelievable.

I would think you'd be over the 400whp mark with downpipes, a cat-back, and intake. Its amazing what direct injection, an extra litre of displacement, and one extra turbo can do...

Nice work my friend! The JB3 really is a great bang for the buck. Hard to beat 90hp for $600!

Not to rain on this parade. While the JB3 numbers look amazing....I have one question in the back of my head......

With all the HPFP failures of late, is there a coorelation with the JB3? Meaning, is the JB3 taxing the HPFP to a level it can't or is not designed to handle?

Thanks.

Not to take away from the numbers he put down, but you're reading too much into it. The 15% driveline loss is a guess, and it's hard to actually prove without doing an engine dyno and then a chassis dyno. On top of that you never know how exact the calibration on the dyno is. The factory numbers are standardized and are adjusted for a specific set of circumstances (temperature, oil level, fuel, altitude, ect.). If you run the car at a lower temperature you're going to see better numbers. In other words, too many variables to say BMW is actually under-rating the cars.

Numbers from a chassis dyno should be used as a tuning tool to demonstrate gain. Trying to derive exact flywheel numbers from them isn't really useful.

this wouldn't be just a function of the JB3.... the Procede, and even flashes like ESS or AA are taxing the HPFP in similar fashion, so while the theory of whether these tunes are taxing the filter beyond its limits is still unknown, this isn't a JB3 only issue.
