How long will the E82 be around?

I have a friend who's an automotive journalist for a major car magazine who after he drove the 128 and 135 at the press launch several weeks ago mentioned to me that he doesn't think the E82 will be around for the typical lifespan of a BMW product (7 years) and will likely be replaced shortly after the 1er hatchback gets it's replacement in 2011.

I don't have much knowledge, if any, in this area about our cars but that seems logical. If that actually is the way the dice will roll, AWESOME. That means less 135i's out there with a high demand. Hopefully turning our cars into investments one day.

there is an article on bimmerfile that says they expect the production to run until 2013.
