BMW CCA

20 years ago, as an enthusiastic early-thirties dude hopelessly gripped with 2002 compulsion, I joined the CCA as it was hailed to be a terrific source for parts, a dealer substitute. It was. Roundel regularly offered how-to articles, shade tree mechanic topics, lots of vintage BMW coverage, fewer 'cultural' elements/activities than today. Not complaining about the cultural stuff, just an observation.
In early August, right after reserving a 135i, I rejoined the BMW CCA. Here we go again...:roundel:

So, any other BMW CCA members here?

I'm a member too. Roundel alone is worth the money. Not to mention the $500 rebate check I got for my M3. BMWCCA is great.

Me too. It'll be between $500-1500. It's $1000 for the 3-series. All signs lead towards $1000.

Sorry, but it's $500 for the 3 series. (that's why I said 'I wish!') Take a look at your own link.

I would hope that the 1er will have the same $500 reward, but it will never exceed the 3er reward.

oops! It IS $500. Not sure why $1000 stuck in my head. Anyway $500 is better than a sharp stick in the eye. Oh, and the link doesn't have amounts on it, I posted it for people to find the rebate form in case someone needed it.

The Roundel is a great resource all by itself. It's a shame more folks don't joint up, it would certainly help with a lot of the issues that get beat around endlessly on here!

I had a brief lapse when I had to sell my '99 M3 when I was out of work, but I've been a member most of the time since I got that. I got my rebate through the company I worked for at the time (same as CCA) and it was $1000 for the M3 back then. Too bad it's dropped!

Member here since '00 when I bought my '98 M3/4. Although there was a small hiatus when I sold the M3 to buy a Porsche 993. But I have been a member again for the last few years. Even got my original membership number back. Have met a bunch of great people in the club. Between that, the track events, social events and the magazine, it is well worth the admission.

How did you get your original # returned? BMW CCA did not answer when I asked.

I don't really know because I didn't ask for it back. I was out of the club for a over two years and when I rejoined I was given the same number that I was given in '00. I assumed that I would get some new higher number but was suprised when I got the original back. Maybe I was still under some sort of statute of limitations that you weren't? Who knows.:iono:

I believe if you have an old old roundel or some sort of other documentation with your member number on it you can get your original back.
