That was my first thought as well, however, 'back then', like today, all my Roundels were delivered in plastic wrappers. I even wrote an article for the Tech column but my number was not included with the signature. I'll try em' again. With any luck they'll respond now that I'm a member.

Thanks.

CCA is a very good organization. I have been a member for 11 years. Joined right after purchasing my first BMW in 1996. Roundel magazine is absolutely worth the cost of membership.

I haven't really taken part in all the events and not participated much in the local chapter. But the times that I have, the people have been wonderful. It is a great group of dedicated people with a passion. Good source of info when you need and everyone is open and willing to share.

And as everyone has mentioned, the loyalty program is a great bonus for new car purchases. I used it on a then new 2000 E46 and it was easy and quick. $1000 check direct from BMW, thank you very much. They lowered it now but its still easy money.

For those of you that are owners and those of you reading this forum, you have the passion to join the club. Please do! It brings you closer to the positive experiences of owning BMWs!

If you are not a member now, and plan to buy a 135i in the spring, can you take advantage of the rebate program (assuming it is offered for the 135i)?

My reading of the web site seems to indicate that discount is available for someone who is a member for 1 year prior to a purchase. Do I have that right? If I joined today, I wouldn't be able to get a rebate on a car purchased in less than a year?

You need 365 days of continuous membership before being eligible for the rebate. The only way you would get it, is if you joined now and waited till next December to get your car.

BMWCCA is one of the best memberships I've ever had. The Roundel is amazing and the rebate program pays for a lot of years of membership dues. The discount on parts/labor at many better BMW service facilities and parts counters can add up to some big savings, too. Has for me. I think it's nuts not to be a member!

I sure hope the 1-series gets a CCA rebate. That may be the only discount we get on this car for awhile.

How does the rebate work? What's the membership fee per year?

If there is a rebate for 1er, it'll be much less than $500. I would say $250 - $300...

Probably best not to speculate. Like I said, a decision will be made in Feb or March 08.
No one knows for sure. :iono:

It'll have to be new as of December 20, 2008. You must be a CCA member for 1 year prior to purchase date in order to qualify for the rebate.

No - unlike the Porsche Club of America (that requires a VIN when you apply to join) the BMW CCA does not require that you own a BMW before joining.

Yeah, I'm aware of the fact that I won't be eligible for the instant rebate, but when I said "dividends", I was referring to the resources that will be available via the site.

I've been a BMW CCA member off and on a couple times in the last ten years. We first joined when we had our 318ti, and let it lapse when I got rid of the car (by way of divorce, she kept it). Re-joined a few years later for autocross/HPDE opportunities, but never had the time to really do much, so I let it lapse again. Joined yet again when I got my 318is a couple years ago and need to get my renewal in.

Overall, very well organized club and great driving events.
