I'd be willing to bet that the person you spoke to was 1996 328ti, who posted in this thread a few posts back, with that exact same info.

So does that mean new members have to pay for two years then to get the rebate, because we don't qualify until after "365 days of continuous membership?" It sounds like you can make the purchase on the 366th day, which is the 1 day of your second year membership.

That's correct. You have to be a continuous member for the prior year, before qualifying for the rebate (if one exists for the 1er.... since it's not until Feb before we find out).

That would be pretty lame if BMW did not offer a discount on the 1. It's not an M3 (well maybe it is, but don't tell anybody)

Was a member for about 4 years with my 328is Bimmer. Then I decided to drop some weight...!
Sold the Bimmer and bought a Beamer, then joined the BMW MOA.
I have to admit the CCA has its act together much more so than the MOA, at least in regards to the $$ benefits to the members...

I've been a member since 1998 and in 2006 (don't mean to brag) was one of the ten raffle winners. Sweet!

Do you realize how hard it is to be happy for you winning a car in 2006 while I and a few hundred of my friends are waiting for our names to be called at O'Fest. Only to have someone not there winning year after year? That should be my car  One of these years, it will be my turn, although with my luck, my wife will win before I do.

It depends if you had lapse in membership.
If you have no lapse within the last 12 months, your original join date can be updated.
If you have had a lapse within the last 12 months, we need to wait a year then call again.

Hi Steven! I assume this is so that you can more more easily approve membership rewards?

For instance, if Surname just resumed his membership after a 3 year hiatus, if you gave him his original member number back, it would look as though he's been a continuous member since 1988, and you could possibly give inappropriate rewards approval to him.

Gotcha'...best not let my membership lapse for another 17 year stretch.

Thanks, guys.

Correct. Because of membership rewards we need to be accurate whether a member has no lapse within the last 12 months.

I also misread your post.
We can reissue original membership numbers with some type of proof.
I was writing regarding original join dates.

Does this mean I need to by a 1 now?

Unhappy unfortunate lapse

I was a member for 5 years and let it lapse for 3 years I when lived overseas. The unfortunate part was I took ED just before returning and didn't get the rebate.

Of course, but not if you have to sell the 'ti to do it.

I'm keeping mine too. E90 goes bu-bye.
