I'd be glad to answer any Lotus questions....I fell in love with the concept when I first drove the 190 HP Elise on track back in 2004. Eventually got rid of my GT3 track car and went with the super-charged Cup versions from Lotus. They are a blast to drive...

That looks AWESOME!!! I want to get rid of my run-flats but not sure if I want to go with another summer tire and just deal with it through our often cold (near freezing mornings to mid 40-50 afternoon temps) though usually fairly dry winters (if we have snow or ice I'd keep the 1er parked and ride with the wife in her AWD XC90) or go with a max performance all-season...not sure which is the best way to go...regardless, I REALLY like the looks of your set-up...what suspension are you running? I wish we had more choices other than the 225/255 route as that messes with the speedo too much as here in Italy, they won't give you 5 MPH over...you'll get a ticket for 3 mph over and they start at about 200 euro (about $315) so I need to be as accurate as possible. I must say again that you did great in picking that combo as it looks awesome!!

Congrats, they look great. I can't believe you saved 10 lbs per corner! I would think that 225/255 would still be around 8 lbs savings.
PS. Nice track car  |

Thanks for the kind words. I agree with you on the taller rear tires... besides speedo accuracy, it also affects your acceleration. Suspension is the KW Variant 2...single adjustable coil overs. I very happy with the ride quality (better than stock) and the significant handling improvement. If you're going to do track work, get the double adjustable V3's.

Thanks Jack! I would like to do some track time while overseas but not sure I'll get the chance. I'd like to get up to Germany with her and run The Ring a few times as well as a few other circuits but we'll see if it happens. Regardless, I like a car that performs well in the twistys...lots of those around me in Northern Italy and Stelvio Pass isn't but a couple hours away also. I'm trying to decide if I should go with the KW v2s or the BMW performance suspension. I'd rather do the KW but the BMW will keep warranty people happy. Thanks again and great lookin' ride!

Just got the wheels/tires yesterday and installed the wheels in the late afternoon. The only driving that I've done so far was to reset the TPM and the car did feel "GOOD". There's no doubt that the reduction of unsprung weight will help the car do a whole host of things better... braking, acceleration and allow the suspension do its job more effectively...all good things. In theory, losing 40 pounds of unsprung weight is the equivalent of me losing 120-160 pounds (depending on whether you go for the 1:3 or 1:4 ratio of unsprung to sprung weight)....now that's a significant diet. Give me some time and I'll report back.

Ok, I now may have to hold out on wheels until these come out in a 19" fitment. Those look great, even in 18's!!!

This is looking like a pretty nice option. Also like the Enkei RPF1 that just went online. Debating between a simple solution like this or going all out on custom Fikse or if Empower comes through.
Any thoughts on the 8.5 on the front instead of the 7.5? I was wondering if a 236/265 setup on 8.5s at each corner would work. Barring rubbing (big if!) that would be a nice combo.

I'm loving this lighter wheel/tire combo and they look fantastic on the car...the pictures don't do them justice -- many positive comments from all who have seen the car. Just swapped cars with a friend (he drives the 135 and I drive his RS, not bad:wink and get to watch the wheels in motion....the look is fantastic...offset is perfect and the brilliant silver justs POPS. Ride/handling has improved with the lighter wheel/tire combo. My guess is that most of the ride quality improvement can be attributed to getting rid of the run flats....those tires are just horrible -- make the switch and you will be amazed at the difference. The reduced usprung weight of 10+ pounds per corner is noticeable...the car just feels more nimble and it felt great before with the KW coil overs. It is especially noticeable how much better the suspension can deal with road irregularities/bumps. As measured by my "butt" dyno, braking and acceleration feel better as well. So far....one of the best mods that I have done. Improved aesthetics and improved performance. Who could ask for more.

Thanks for the info Jack. Very tempting. Notice the new Enkei wheels up on TireRack are coming in only 8.5" all the way around which is why I asked. Wondered if that may work on these as well. I have a few pending questions out there that once answered I'll decide, but these are looking way up on the list.
Next week I hope to get my KW v2s installed along with air intake, H&R sway, and the Dinan flash. Wheels and potentially Brembos are all that remain. Can't wait!

Well I just put these same wheels on my silver/sport 135 Looks like a twin. I put Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires on though as the only real difference.
The KW v2s go on when I return from Korea, along with new air intake, Dinan flash, and shadowline grills. Getting close. And yes, the saved weight is noticeable. Haven't tried a real 0-60 thing, but has a "lightness" moving around at slow speed, going from stop to roll to stop. Haven't had the chance yet to play with the grip but wouldn't want judge until they get heated up a couple times anyway. Thanks for the pics and info Jack. Made my life easier! And they look MUCH better in person than even the photos can show. In photos they look almost too bright, close to chrome. But in real life they just look clean. Also the concave look is more noticeable than I realized in the photos.
