I'm going to go with Black on a Black car. I think it looks good on the car in this post below.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=168 I wouldn't waste my money buying another set of silver wheels since I already have the stock silver wheels which I think look better than most after market silver wheel I've seen. (we have the 261M in Australia). I can put these back on at anytime. I'm not too sure about the red stripe yet however, it's starting to grow on me. Looks good on the cars in the attached post. If I don't like it I can alway get it painted out. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=168 |

Depends on your age. The red stripe seems to go down in value the further from age 21 one gets.
Jack has some awesome pics of silver on his 1-series. He has the same color combo as me and I got pretty nearly sold after seeing his pics. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13448

Going the jet black look is pretty cool on the 1-series. The red doesn't dominate the look in that case like it might in other setups. The pics up on the thread showing a lot of 3-series with the black rims should give a pretty good impression (although not identical a 1er.) While not for me, they look pretty hot on those cars.
You may want to look into painting the rotors if you're going jet black. Red rotors with the thin red stripe on a blacked out car could be pretty slick.

Nice. I'll take gray on black. The wheels lose their detail or blend into the background when it's black on black.

I have the black on SGM and it is a matte type of black finish...Looks bad on darker colors IMO....The red stripe does go with the Coral interior...Leaving the calipers alone...like the look...

I just put the silver wheels on my silver 135. I would take photos but you can see the other thread on this in the previous link and mine are pretty similar. I would say that they are not quite as bright as you see in some photos - which I think is a good thing. They look very "clean". They also have a nice concave, and a noticeably more "open" feeling than stock. Easy to clean, easy to see the brakes, etc.
Highly recommended for the price. Still somewhat lust after the Fikse rims but I saved $2-3k that I can use on Brembos
