This is what I know from Military Sales in Korea. No visibility on the 1M yet. Regarding limited production slots - no visibility on that either. Sure this is known, but M models are already rationed for military sales. Military sales only is allotted a few slots for each build (in know M3 is like 7) and that number is worldwide. Believe it or not, Korea gets 1-4 of those slots per build. So, it is safe to conclude that in either scenario, demand should exceed supply.

M cars are not "rationed" over here in Germany for MCS.

Anyone have any luck with any of the military sales folks? I was up at Pentagon this morning and they don't have anything. They aren't able to put in orders like some of the US dealerships supposedly can.

I also spoke with my CA from Pentagon to chat a bit...mostly talked cars. Pentagon has not received allocation from BMW at this point. I don't think they will until spring, but I do think it will be offered. One thing I didn't know about Military Sales is that as long as you have an order placed (but not finalized) you qualify. For example, my CA stated that there was a few guys that ordered a new E92 M3 when it was announced, but not yet being produced. Even though they finished their overseas tour and PCS'd back to the states, they still qualified for Military Sales. Something cool I didn't know. I think I may hold out for the initial demand to die down...then place an order with Pentagon requesting a late production for when I finish my deployment.

Worst case, I pick up a used Z4MC when I come home...

Just fyi---

I emailed m-power saying I would love to order my 1m and get a free gift... if military sales would offer the dang thing. They said they would forward my request.

We should be in anyone and everyone's ear about this. If they aren't aware that the demand is there, they will not even think about offering it. At least that is my impression.

I submitted an email this morning saying I have an order placed through Pentagon. I only received the standard "Congratulations" email from M-Power.

Curious about something. How long can Military Sales hold an order before the vehicle has to be produced and shipped? Here is my situation. I'm will be deploying at the end of 2011 returning at the end of 2012, if its a year deployment. If I order a 1M and I don't return until late into 2012 can Military Sales hold my car until I'm back? Meaning if MY 2012 ends sometime in August/September and I don't come home until say October/November will I be out? This is if the E82 1M is only offered for MY 2012. Thoughts??

Then click "BMW Military Sales," "Info Request." Ask them exactly what you just posted and they'll be able to give you the best answer.

I'm Stateside on leave right now so a little behind the power curve but have found the same issue with both the M-Power and the Military Sales sites... all they do is forward your email to folks we've already asked

I Email them. It's possible for my scenario. I was told E82 production will end early in 2012 though! They said to place my order in June and I could easily not expect deliver until October.

If you are stationed/deployed in the Middle East try Superior Motorsports MSP in Bahrain, I put their standard "M Car" $3,000 deposit down two days ago.

Yes they did. Looks like others are able to put their deposits down. Hopefully you guys don't take up all the allocations before I deploy.

Hmm the military sales program price should be the same regardless who u go through right? Or do the places add their own markup?

I was told you CAN do euro delivery but You pay a small fee. I would contact Pentagon Car Sales for the most accurate info.

I believe that's only if you're stationed in Germany. It's not really called Euro delivery, it's you can pick up your vehicle at the Welt and you pay extra for that privilege. I asked about doing Euro delivery and could not, even though I could have just driven it back through the chunnel.

From the research I did with the 135i the price is consistent across MSP dealers, there was a $4k off MSRP.

Nice, thanks for the info fellow servicemen. I got quoted 43k preliminary for the 1M. Hopefully it'll be lower when more details come out. I wonder if the options are discounted?

Options are the same price as normal msrp on all the military and diplomatic sales sheets I've seen (1er, 3er, M3).
