Smile Yet another, what would you buy thread

Hello,

I am planning on buying a N54 2010 135i e82 before the end year, I have appreciated this car for a while.

I used to own a Honda s2000 and a Mitsubishi Galant vr4 and performed all the maintenance and modifications myself.

My goals for the car are to be street legal ( Australia ) and deliver ~400whp+, the car will be daily driven and it's okay if there are some weeks were it is off the road.

When I purchase the car, I'll do FBO, plugs, turbo back exhaust and tune ( depending on local tuner knowledge ) and get some good tires.

Budget is around AU$25-27k, I will not purchase a car that has been in an accident or repairable right-off.

If this was your build, would you:

A. Buy a stock car for less than AU$18k with 180,000km+ on the clock and spend AU$7-9k on complete suspension upgrade, turbo upgrade, probably clutch replacement, brakes and other wear and tear items? + above upgrades

B. Buy a stock car for ~AU$23k with less than 90,000km on the clock and perform the above upgrades

C. Buy a slightly modified car for ~AU$23k with ~120,000km+ on the clock and upgrade missing components

Understand interior and body condition are evaluated entirely separately.

Thanks

180k is pretty high mileage, even in km. At that point I think you'll be rebuilding more than just your normal wear and tear items.

Either of the other two sound like better options. There's not that much difference between 90k and 120k. I wouldn't pass on the 120k car if you like it better.
