12mm Rear Spacer Rub - Help!
So I installed 12mm BMS rear spacers yesterday as I probably won't be picking up new rims this season. I'm running a stock 2011 m sport suspension/rim setup and (sadly) the Bridgestone RFT 245/40/18 tire. Looks great, but oddly enough only the right rear tire is rubbing. It's bad over humps or taking a sharp left turn and I need to figure out a fix. The rub even happens at low speeds.
I don't want to have to get my fenders rolled as I thought that 12mm was definitely playing it safe as I'm not lowered. Is anyone else running this setup with no problems? Any idea why only my right rear is rubbing (even when I'm the only passenger)? I emailed Terry @ BMS too and I'm waiting to hear back. Thanks guys, J |

just a crazy idea...but rub some chalk all over the inside of the wheel well where you think its rubbing and it will give you the exact spot? on a dry day of course...
ive never heard of this but thought it couldnt hurt |

I'm probably going to jack up the opposite side tonight to see if I can pinpoint the rub area. Anyone know of a good shop to roll fenders in the city? I called a guy up in Rowley that was recommended today, but I haven't heard from him yet. Supposedly he takes care of Turner's cars.

I did something similar, I put masking tape in the wheel well and could see where the tape got rubbed through.

This exactly or if its rubbing badly already, you will see where paint is starting to come off. If i had to guess, it would be where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel. I had to roll that little edge down about 4mm to get it to not rub badly and it still rubs a tad with ~250lbs on the passenger side.

why'd you go with 12mm? I've heard max for spacers should be like 5mm or 7mm

Thanks b1aze...I might give him a buzz tomorrow. I figure that even if I remove the spacers I'll be all set for wider rubber down the road.
