Which scanner tool? Foxwell NT520 Pro or NT510?
Hi All,
I've done a bit of searching and no definitive answer as to which is better suited for our specific vehicles... I have a 2011 N55 135i and was wondering if there's a major difference between the NT520 Pro or NT510 scanner tool made by Foxwell? Price is the same on ebay, and my MAIN concern is which is better suited for my vehicle (I don't care about being able to use it on other vehicles, etc.). Does the NT520 Pro include all (and perhaps more) of the BMW-specific codes in the 135i N55 than the NT510? Thanks in advance. |

I bought the NT520 Pro for my 997.1S and have disabled my seatbelt chime, turned my side lights into blinkers, made my horn honk when I lock the car and something else but I can’t remember.
My 09 135i already has so much coding done I haven’t played around with it to much. I was able to code a 2013 X3’s battery with it. I had to pay $60 to load BMW,Mini,Rolls onto the scanner. I went w/ the NT520 because that is what others were buying on Rennlist. |

I have the 520 and it couldnt properly code my battery. I wanted it to go from acid to glass mat. it stalled in the middle because i dont have a bmw serial number. my car's computer now shows about four batteries in three days.
on the other hand, my car came with manual seats, no options. i installed a memory sport seat and I think the memory works. I am the only one who drives it so I havent tested it lately.

Thx for the replies.. as a newb, I decided to go for a $20 b/t obd device and pair with the Torque Pro app first. Basically want to read into the car a bit more and be able to view/erase/reset codes as needed. Will see how that goes.

ICarsoft Multi-system Car Diagnostic Tool BMM V2.0 which sells for $125->$150. It has OBDII functions, Service Reset functions, and of course, all the specific BMW DTCs covering all areas of the vehicle.

I've recently purchased the Autophix 5900 Code reader, was thinking about the Foxwell as well, but if you need it for code reading and battery registration the Autophix does trick.

Well I'll put in my Two Cents.
I have the ICarsoft BMM V2.0 made specifically for BMWs. This scanner does everything. I can reset all the warnings, get the engine oil, transmission oil, and coolant temperatures in real time. It checks 100 BMW error codes. It also checks OBDII codes. I've used it to diagnose misfires and bad injectors. Although I haven't done it yet, I believe it'll check fuel trim and O2 sensors. I've used it to replace the battery, indicate to the EMS the battery is new. In any case, it is extremely easy to use, so I consider it a bargain for $100. |
