I haven't opened the boxes yet. So there is a hole in my trunk for a key lock that doesn't exist in my car?!?! I've got a 2011... That's discerning... Looks like I'm opening the box tonight to take a look. That's a MAJOR oversight on their part!

Personally, I think its more retarded that bmw removed the lock rather than icarbon not knowing they did it. I would rather nd missing my armrest so I could use my other cup holder.

They took care of me Aside from a few mistakes they've made in their time, they are good people and aim to please!

So I seem to just be talking to myself at this point. Apparently customer service is hit or miss with them.

I would contact DTMrack; thier post on the last page said they would take care of you. This is exactly what I am afraid of though. I don't want a vendor to promise I will be satisfied; I want the company to promise that. But we'll see what happens.

Agree, I would purchase via a vendor instead of directly from manufacture. You get same price and vendors are well set up to handle all situations. DTMrack seem to have a great reputation!

iCarbon responded to all 3 of my messages today and all is well again.
Feast or famine. In the end they did "take care of me" so I'm happy to say I'm still a booster of theirs, even though there were a few speed bumps in the road.

Guys,
I just taked to the guys and the hoods are certified to 100mph with out pins (I have gone as high as 120mph). Above 100 its up to you but I would exercise great caution as an accident could be catastrophic. Either way 100mph is pretty fast so unless you track it you should be good w/o unless you drive stupid fast like me. Imo this is very good news!

"certified to 100mph"... what the? Who "certifies" it? Did they test them? Is it the same for single sided carbon and double?
To each his own, but as for me it's hood pins all the way. There's no way I'm going to be flying down a track at 100mph, and have the hood shatter my windshield, pop off my rear view mirror, and leave me blind at 100mph. ...and on and on and on

Im just saying its what they will guarantee it to 100mph. I have heard they have tested much higher (wont say number) but its a lot. Now would I track it? No, I trap 120 and hit 140 on my local tracks strait but would I dd it w/o hell ya! I just have to slow down. For most this is good news

So which option is 100% carbon fiber to include the core layers of composite? You don't use VARTM for the carbon as well? What is the composite material in the VACC? What resin and UV inhibitors are you using with this? just want to make sure i buy quality.

Can we PLEASE talk them into selling these hoods WITH the damn pins then?? First off I dont see why the hell not, if we're all gonna hafta spend the damn money anyways, why cant they just have em installed before shipment, would sure make things a HELL of a lot easier for me, I dont wanna go lugging around this hood to shops having them cut into my expensive CF hood THEY did not produce and possibly fuck it up all at an extra cost to me

Just to chime in... again...
I've been hitting 80 daily for highway driving for a few weeks with my single sided CF hood (seibon not iCarbon) with no issues. By that I mean for extended periods on the highway cruising. I also punch it into the trips once in a while, and while the hood does indeed flex a bit and even shake when it's windy, it's been alright. I've been assured by both Seibon AND Vivid Racing that unless you regularly go over 120 (like on a track car), that hood pins aren't necessary. I'm assuming iCarbon's product is of an equal (if not greater) quality than Seibon's, and for single sided they do weigh about the same. Again, this is just my experience. I'd still say get them if you're worried, but I'm just letting you all know that I've been zipping around with no issues thus far (a few weeks into my CF hood ownership). Though if iCarbon actually answered you guys.. maybe we'd get a more definitive answer. maybe one day?
