Lowest coilover
In the market for coilovers. And i'd like to know what coilover goes to lowest! and what my options may be!
I know this might be weird to some of you super hardcore track and performance enthusiasts. I wouldnt mind a few pictures. Everything iv seen so far has just been like 1-1.5" drop. Im looking for something in the neighborhood of 3"-5"(no im not kidding ) I understand the negatives of lowering a car too much. I know im new to the site, but iv been around the block a few times Thanks in advance to anyone. Any specs on the coils would be awesome. price and where i can get them would be great! thanks! |

Most of the track junkies realize that a super low suspension wrecks the good handling characteristics of our cars. Slammed ride heights are for show, not go.

That's pretty slammed!
There's a guy on here who put his white 135i on coils at the lowest settings possible and it produced a look just like your GTI. BMW suspensions are actually more aggressive than VW suspensions when it comes to lowering kits in that they seem to give that slammed racy look even on a starting point like springs. Let me see if I can dig those pics up.

HA! they weren't even coils, they were H&R Super Sport Springs...
found here http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12409 I know you were going the coils route...they will more than likely drop the car to look like that or even lower. K&W or H&R would be my choices (but i'd keep the drop reasonable)...whichever I could get cheaper they are both quality products.

daily driven low as hell.
and i could care less about streching tire. i just wanna know before i just guess and end up wrong, and wasting money on tires over and over again. the fenders and quarters on my past cars are not as forgiving for wide wheels like the bmw's are. i ran a 205/45 on a 8 and a 215/45 on a 9 all day for 3 years. never had a problem. i know it doesnt need to be as streched in this case because of the fenders and quaters. i planned on re doing my wheels, to add some bigger wheels. possibly getting them to 10.5 or 11 if i could. putting a 245 or so on it. but its cheaper for me to get 2" lips and just run a 225 or 235 on the 9.5 |
