What’s going on with my dash
Please advise. 2009 BMW 135i AT 167k
Got in the car this morning and this is what I saw. I live in NC and typically use the sunshade. Is there any type of fix for this? The car is up to date on all maintenance and running strong. Last edited by Mineral///M4; 07-05-2019 at 12:50 PM.. |

I've always thought I could fix this type of issue by injecting a liquid adhesive under the spot and then pressing it down. If adhesive can be aerosolized to pass through a rattle can nozzle, I don't see why it couldn't pass through a syringe.

someone posted up a fix on this a year or so ago. Search the forums. I think all they did was apply heat and some soft contouring weights to the dash and was pretty successful in getting it to re-adhere...

maybe a small tiny bubble like that yea. The bubble starts like that and then grows to become way bigger like mine is now..

I have a blow dart gun & I was able to use one of the darts to make a small hole. I believe that I will try to find a syringe filled with glue to fix my issue.

Here's an old thread discussing the repair of the bubble.

It will be hard to use spray with this without getting it everywhere. Friend of mine had this issue already...he warned me mine would do it eventually. What he did was get a small needle like a 18ga-20ga...and somehow affixed it to a tube of the clear as glass Gorilla Glue. Made a small puncture, squeezed the glue in, used a plastic card to smooth it out then held it down....then wiped away the excess after it had cured. So far so good.
