Looking to add some rubber to my 2013 135is with stock suspension. Probably going with Apex Arc-8 with Michelin Pilot 4 S tires.

275/35R18

Front
18x8.5 et45
235/40R18

Anyone running a similar setup? Any need to add camber or get camber plates? The Dinan plates look like a solid option if necessary, but I'd prefer not to add camber unnecessarily.

I have the same set up but 265 in the rears. 275 will be tight for sure, might need some negative camber and/or fender rolled

On stock ride height it might not be an issue, but there is a possibility of the tire rubbing against the fuel filler neck in the rear.

Have 275/35/18 out back on EC7s with 3mm spacer and it rubs the neck a bit. Have 5/10mm I'm gonna try. But my rear fenders are rolled and trimmed.

About 1" lowered.

But I wouldnt run 235/275. Either do 235/265 or start playing with fitments and try 245-255/275.

Is the filler neck rubbing is that on the inside or outside?

Why not 275/235? The diameter difference is only 0.2in, if that's the concern. I feel like fitting a 245 in the front would be a lot of work.

245/35 fits better in the front than a 235/40, as long as you have increased the camber. Have been running 245/265 for years without rubbing or any fender mods.

245/35 in the front would be almost 1 inch smaller than 275/35 in the rear. I feel like that would look funky, and possibly piss off the ABS?

Did a lot of research and it seems like it's a 50/50 shot whether or not 235/40 will rub in the front with totally stock suspension. Sounds like clearance to the strut is tight but manageable, but it could rub the fender liner. Apex says this fitment has no issues, so I think I'll give it a go.

I ordered some Dinan camber plates just in case.

The camber plates will be very helpful all the way around.

As stated before, don't run 235/275. The tire is just a taller tire (0.4-0.65" diameter increase) and likely heavier in the worst part of the wheel (outer-most diameter). IMO, and i have zero hard data to prove this, but you'll see just as good performance from a 225/265 setup.

Both the 235/40 and the 245/35 can work on this setup. With our 18x8.5 et45 wheels, most folks who run the 245s need a small spacer in the front and some additional negative camber to clear.

In the rear you will likely need a bit of fender rolling or negative camber to fit a 275 tire without rubbing the fenders. Our old 18x9.5 ET 62 wheels rubbed on the inner fuel filler neck much more often which was one of the main reasons behind our switch to the ET58 wheel. The more the car is lowered, the more likely you are to experience rubbing near the filler neck tube especially with 275 section tires.

I have run 235/275 on arc8s for many years. The rear I run a 3mm spacer to make it et59. You may rub the fuel filler neck. Pictures on post 22. The fitment is tight for sure. A lot of it depends on your suspension and tire brand. I would look at the actual tier specs to see the actual size of the tire. For example the sumitomo 275 i had previously installed is the same actual size as the 265 falkens I currently have installed.

UPDATE:

Went ahead and installed the wheels in the 1st post with Pilot Sport 4S tires. So far there is no rubbing whatsoever. I went out on the windiest bumpiest road I know and so far so good. Granted I was the only one in the car. Fully loaded might be a different story, although it's very rare for there to be more than 2 people in the car. Also did full lock turns in a parking lot w/o any issues.

Closest clearance is the front tires to the shock body, its like 1-2 mm, very very close. Also FR tire to the inner fender is tight on left turns, like 4mm clearance.

I am on totally stock suspension and alignment. I bought Dinan camber plates but have not installed them.

The looks are throwing me off a bit. The taller tires make the wheels look smaller and gives the car more of an off-roady appearance. I'll just have to get used it.

Tires grip very well, hard to break loose in 2nd with 500 rwhp. Road noise is slightly more than the Ventus V12 tires that were on the car.

How much camber are you running Front and Back, and on what suspension setup/ride height? Adjustable camber plates or fixed?

Dampers and springs are stock. The only mod required to fit the tires is the Dinan fixed front plates. I am also running M3 front arms, but those actually slightly reduce fender clearance. Front camber is -2.20', rear is -2.0'.
