It definitely sounds like IBS issue. I got the same issue. My battery, IBS cable and negative terminal cable were all replaced last week. Luckily under warranty.

And I wrote a DIY thread for replacing battery and coding new one with Carly. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...8#post21703358

Nice DIY. My wife just had her's done at the dealer for a little less than $400. I won't go that route when my 2009 goes. She really likes to go to the dealer and her battery also failed catastrophically. We had to jump from both ends to get it to start - it would take no charge at all.
I looked at just putting a battery in it and dealing with the coding later, the path I intend to take with mine, but the lack of amp hour ratings on US batteries slowed me down. Her's was rated 80 am hours but only 140 reserve capacity. I found a conversion on line that said to multiply reserve by .4167. Doesn't work for that battery. It's CCA were only 650. Pretty small battery. What do you guys do when you don't really know the amp hours. Take a reasonable guess?

This formula gets pretty close: RC *(0.449) + 12.4 |

Another thing that helps mine is the vacumn pump for the emissions system is bad. It has been throwing code for over a year. I don't think that system is very important and I don't know exactly where on the car that pump is so I've just left if broken. It works all the time so it is a parasitic drag on the battery.

Interesting. That would have said her old battery was about 75 amp hours and the biggest one I found in a brief search (160 reserve) about 85 amp hours. That would make the 80 amp hour rating the closest in both cases. Might be reasonable to just use the 80 setting for the normal range of batteries.
