Exclamation BMW PE or muffler delete?????

Hey everyone, I am on the fence on if I should spend more money and get the BMW performance exhaust or spend less money and get a muffler delete. If I were to get a muffler delete I would also get a nice injen intake. The price for the PE seems to be the only downside to it, so I am having a hard time justifying the price when I can spend a seventh of the price and get a muffler delete.

Why not just cut the muffle off where the PE attaches? if you like it keep it, if not, buy the PE?

I read a lot of the threads on PE vs 135 vs combining with headers etc. I finally settled on just the PE. It definitely isn't the most cost effective, but I do think it was worth it. I agree with the above.^

If you can keep the exhaust the cost of a PE is nominal. Buy it used. Install it. Drive. Remove. reinstall stock. Sell. It's not going to wear out. Keep it clean and polished.

Sounds sooooo good!!!

i went muffler delete route because it was quite cheaper. It did add some sound, but to be honest I was underwhelmed. Took a few days and it started sounding decent, but I knew I wanted more and cut the Resonator out too. NOW she REALLY screams I love it except I left the stock tips and the exhaust flap in the stock tips can't handle the pressure and rattled. I disconnected the flap's plug in the trunk and it helped out a lot, but there is still a slight rattle. If I were you, I would get new tips and have an entirely new system axle-back. I am going to replace my current setup with quad exhaust when I get my diffuser in, along with getting rid of secondary cats. Hope this helped!

Thanks for everyone's replies, I'm thinking ima go the muffler delete route since I just wanna have more sounds when i'm cruising around the country roads. How do we feel about these tips? My car is cashmere silver metallic with black wheels and accents and im a little worried they'd clash with the color...

Personally I'd pass on the heat coloured look....to each his own but that IMO doesn't suit the car.

I don't think it would go well with black accents, but it is your car. if it were mine, I would go with gloss/matte black tips

It's fairly well known that one of the best setups is a secondary cat delete (Supersprint makes a pipe for our cars), and the stock 135i exhaust. I'd recommend this or just the PE. Skip the injen intake, it won't do anything.

The blue tips definitely give a lot of contrast

Burnt tips not too bad lookin! But if you want more sound, the res delete woke up the volume for me. I recently deleted my sec cats hoping for some better free revs and a real ground shaker. JEEZ! Thing pops like no tomorrow and is WAY more responsive on throttle. Got louder and way more raw. Sounds meaner than my friend's M4 Comp. Definitely obnoxious, but I do not mind. I have a straight pipe from the primaries now!! Very little drone unless I mash it in higher gear To many, my setup is overkill. For me, it is just right

Yeah for now, with just the muffler gone I'm happy with how it sounds, I do plan on getting rid of the resonator as well but probably not for a few months.

If you go resonator delete, it would be a nice upgrade. You will have some nice volume and a bit more rasp. For me, the res made more of a difference than the muffler delete. People will definitely know you have a modified exhaust even in normal driving. Slight pops and burbles, but far from obnoxious. Little bit of drone on freeways under throttle in high gear, but not bad. I had to get my exhaust shop to make me a y pipe (cuz resonator is 2into1), but damn she was properly loud. A sane person would end it there, but then my young self wanted more, got sec. cats deleted and now I am driving a backfiring beast, and she is faster!! Even city driving, she gets angry at 2-3k rpm in 2nd and 3rd and she has this e36-like wail under throttle. Everytime I even get close to regretting my decision about how loud it gets, she barks on a downshift and I grin so hard my cheeks hurt Cold starts are crazy loud though, almost as loud as a 5.0 mustang with Borla ATAKs. Will post videos soon!!

Apologize for the writeup haha!
