TSB for sticky exterior door handles

Anybody have any of their exterior door handles replaced due to the sticking problem and the TSB.
If so, did the replacement fix it for good? Did the paint match?
Sorry if this has been covered I have been away from the forum and am too lazy to search.
Thanks.

Do you have the TSB detail?

I created this thread today: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39657 and I wonder if they are related.

I used a little white lithium gease on all 4, no more issues. I didn't feel it was worth a trip to the dealer. It works, no more sticking, problem solved.

Yeah, pretty much ANY auto parts store carries it. It is used by dealers to lube door hinges, seat tracks, sunroof mechanism, trunk and hood hinges, ect. It is a thin grease, not as sticky as most general greases. Feels kinda soapy.

I've had my tube for years, can't even hardly read the print on the tube anymore. Try and avoid the sprays if you can. They both work the same, but the sprays are messy. Just use a little and apply with a Q-tip.

the reason I asked was because the garage (Euro cars specialists) that my buddy gets his VR6 serviced at uses a white grease, and when he asked them where to buy it, they said that the public can't get it.

I assume it's better than WD-40 in that it won't mess up your paint if you get a little on the painted surface?

dont use wd-40... wd-40 is a penatrating oil not a full-blown lubricant. use wd-40 to loosen rusted nuts or something, not as a lube.

This stuff will work too.

http://www.buysuperlube.com/grease.htm

I have a tube of it (3 oz size), it's more expensive, but works awesome. Home depot, Auto parts stores, ect. will have it. I think even K-mart and Wal-Mart carry it.

Don't use WD40, it's too thin, and won't do the job. It will strip all the grease off, and then in a week go away, and you'll have an even stickier handle.
