for those wondering final height with swift spec r springs and dinan camber plates is :
22.625" front 22.25" rear measured from body to bottom of the rim they've been on for a while now so should have completely settled. |

I will have this exact setup on the car in a few weeks once all the stuff comes in....although I have a 128i so may not quite be the same as for you guys with 135i's. I'll post results either way.

Leaning toward the BMWPS now. Have yet to read a bad review. Has anyone had it and then moved to B6/B8 or Koni Yellow?
Thinking BMWPS M3 control arms Dinan plates Already have Whiteline RSFB inserts. Might add M3 front sway. Hmmm...

I'd be reluctant to run that rear bar with out swapping out the e-Diff for an LSD.

Yes, top-notch suspension will probably make you long for the LSD. But an LSD without an upgraded suspension probably won't do much for you at all. Some guys with properly-tuned suspension track their cars al the time with the e-Diff. No-brainer for me. But then, I feel the suspension deficiencies all the time, and only rarely wish for better rear traction.

LSD is one of the biggest mods for these cars. I had all my suspension parts on the car before I added an M factory LSD plus a lockdown kit. The car is a million times better with the LSD then without it. Yes the suspension parts helped a lot when I did them but no matter how dialed in you make your car your leaving a lot of performance on the table with an open Diff.

Does anybody know front and rear spring lengths for the Swift Spec-R, BMW PS, and/or Eibach Pro-Kit for our cars? Or even the factory M-Sport springs? I can find reference to how much drop each offers, and see pictures in the Lowered Suspension thread, but if using the Dinan camber plates (raise the front) and installing on a convertible (drops the rear) and want to choose custom spring rates to use with Koni Yellows instead of going height-adjustable coilovers - want to make sure to select a well-balanced set of lengths.

If this is the case how can a set of PS springs reduce height by about 1/2 an inch while Cobb Springs bring it down 1.2"? They have fairly similar spring rates.
If ride height with Springs and shocks or struts is determined by outside factors, how could Lowering Springs even be a thing? |

At the end of the day it's going to be very very difficult to get such an exact estimate of drop (you're talking accuracy of .25" or less), I think if that much difference is so important perhaps coilovers will give you that precise level of adjustment.... I've seen 2 identical cars have slightly different drops (0.25" variance for example) when using identical suspension kits! Don't know why, maybe it was an install issue, maybe it was shitty quality control on the suspension manufacturer's part...but I think it's going to be really hard to get such accurate measurements... |
