I didn't receive it. But I got to use it. I called BMW and they informed me about it. Mine broke and the dealer told me I'm 7 months over my warranty which was 8 years/ 125,000 miles. Called BMWNA for goodwill and they said the warranty is extended; didn't pay $1,600 for the repair.

The footwell module (FRM) is an electrical nodal point in the footwell on the drivers side. The footwell module picks up the signals from the doors and controls the lighting. The footwell module also controls the adaptive headlights. The footwell module is also the interface to the dashboard.

The following components deliver signals for the footwell module:

Height sensors
Reversing light switch
Brake light switch
Hazard warning flasher switch
Light switch
Driver’s door switch block
Door contacts in front doors
Driver’s door lock
Here's a pic of it on an E90:

Same here, I'm fortunate that I had a PO that did the entire 160k mile break-in period for me...

And they're aimed properly?! That's amazing...

Had the car washed a couple of days ago, noticed no beeding of any kind, despite me waxing the car 10 days ago with a new wax (€60 wax with €6 performance, it will be returned).

Had to clean the car again yesterday, and in 1c weather clayed it since there was a few rough spots, was not a perfect job since the clay hated the cold weather and water, but it is better than nothing.

Gave it a coat of Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax, had nothing but good experience with it and lasted 5 months on my parked outside exposed Golf. This morning we saw a light coat of snow, it literally just slid off without any effort.

She is well protected now for winter, saw a shit ton of light, medium and heavy scratches sadly. But at least she will get through winter, in Spring i will be doing a 2 stage compounding (maybe 3 we shall see) and get her all nice and shiny.

Yes, I am not one of those who can't figure out how to aim headlights. I also have a pet peeve against those who install HID's in a reflector housing, since they basically blind everyone on the road.

I am happy to report that I have not been getting flashed at all, so I think I have them aimed adequately.

Thank you for being a good road user!

In other news; I think my driveshaft center support bearing is very nearly toast; I'm getting a clunk from under the armrest area every time I load the drivetrain (setting-off, accelerating, shifting, etc.). I'll have to do some exploration, because I really don't want to take the exhaust off (those header nuts and bolts are one unit at this point)...

I also don't like those drivers with their BLINDING headlights! They should all be pulled over and given fix-it tickets!

Very annoying and dangerous!

Changed the oil for a 2nd time after running a can of ligui molly engine flush for about 15 min. Last change was about 1500 miles ago. When I bought the car at ~36k miles, the inside of the valve cover was covered in sludge. I figure the car had only had 2 oil changes at that time. It's starting to look better. I'll do one more in another 1500 miles at 40k and call it good. Hopefully the last flush will get rid of the last amount of sludge.

Have to say, watching these commercials about changing your oil every 20k scares the heck out of me. It's not so much of the oil breaking down, it's all the blow by that contaminates the oil that would concern me.

Direct injection + Boost ≠ Long oil change intervals

So, received that arm rest with the big storage bin.

Was looking forward to replacing the black arm rest with the beige, but I missed by one shade- I'm pretty sure I got what I bought, but I bought one shade darker than my seats. Poo, I got lost in the multitude of finish codes. I was looking forward to replacing my black arm rest with one that matched the seats and door trim.

Turns out, though, this is a good news/bad news thing-

The bad- not only was the color one shade off, but the pics in the ebay listing were very crafty- There were lots of pics from every angle. Every angle but the bottom. Which was scratched & scuffed all to hell & back. I'm not really sure how you could screw it up that much and not have dead bodies involved.

The good- I think all variations and colors of the arm rest have black storage bins. This is, it turns out, a very cool thing! Go forth and find the least expensive arm rest you can get your hands on, because the storage bin is super easy to remove from the arm rest! It just clips in, which means it easily pops out for replacement. Like, under a minute and the bin is in your hands, no need to remove the arm rest from your car or anything exciting-

What about the wiring? I assume there is some since there is a docking station for phone.

No wires on mine, but plenty of room underneath if they need to be tucked away.
