A better intercooler would reduce intake temps and make air marginally denser going into the turbos which makes achieving maximum boost easier and less stressful on the turbos as well. maybe im wrong since i have very little experience with turbocharged engines but it sure sounds good.
A free flowing exhaust will help the turbine spool, not necessarily prolonging its lifespan, but the intercooler has no effect on the turbo itself, the intercooled air only makes ity to the intake manifold, not to the turbo. The best thing FOR MOST HIGHER BOOST applications is a blow off valve to prevent compressor surge, I'm not sure if our diverter valve can stand almost 40% more boost or not, I'm not an n45 expert (haven't even picked mine up yet, next week though but, most of the race teams out here on nurburgring sound like they have the hks bov. But dp/s and intercoolers don't prolong life of a turbo.
