1M Rolex Dayton Pace Car - 2011 - Halogen Lights

Came across this video in youtube's recommended videos. I noticed during the in-depth portion of the video that the 1M has the Halogen headlights for track use. Pretty neat.

Is the assumption weight loss? And/or reduced cost of replacement?

Thanks for sharing, great vid! Love that shot from the rear of the 1M @ 2:59: "Very cool car!" "VERY cool!!"

My initial thoughts are track safety? Looks like they were using special bulbs for the pace car that probably wouldn't work with the xenon.

Nice find. I hadn't seen that before and didn't know the 1M was the Daytona 24 safety car in 2011. Might be good to put the video in the 1M reviews compliation sticky if it's not in there already.

Huh, never noticed the headlights and I've had this car porn pic on my phone since 1/29/2011. It was luv at first sight when I saw her If memory serves me right, this was the only designated 1M that was not or could not be registered so technically the USDM only received 739..

This mentions the M button and says it increases torque, I thought it just altered the throttle response.

I think it gives a small temporary torque increase just like the mode in the 991 Turbo S does .

Pretty sure that's not correct. Search for some threads on here. If I recall correctly it changes the wastegate cycles on the turbos and remaps the throttle. I believe that's it.

Under full throtle condition (with some other minor engine heat up pre-condtions) the car will allow for 10 seconds of additional 50 Nm torque. It is however unrelated to the engagement of the m-button
