I currently have read subframe inserts & front m3 control arms but just purchased another DD (electric Fiat) and plan on turning the e82 into more of a pure track car.
I'm planning on putting some solid delrin rear subframe bushings in & rear camber arms with upgraded bushings but I wanted to get people's suggestions on where to start after the subframe (nvh is not a concern)

My understanding is that the rear toe arms bushings deflect quite a bit and are actually responsible for some of the skating issues many 1 series people complain of with higher power. I would replace those next. If NVH is no issue bimmerworld seems to make the nicest set which include nice aurora sphericals.

Bimmerworld, or Ground Controls rear arm set make a huge difference. We did those, solid subframe bushings and monoball bushings for the front control arms, and it totally changed the car.

Let the record show that the subframe inserts are a waste of time. Ran them, had them deform and twist inside the void of the OEM bushing. Have since replaced them with the AKG 75D full bushings. Appreciable difference, road and track. Actually improved NVH through minimized deflection and rear end wiggling. Allows the rear suspension to work much more efficiently, improving ride quality.

Before we did the full aluminum ones in the car, it already had Whiteline Subframe bushings installed (not the inserts). These Whiteline bushings are a huge upgrade from stock and much stiffer then even M3 bushings. That being said, the full aluminum bushings are just as big of a step up from the Whiteline bushings, nice thing is the NVH change was very minimal (which for a track car shouldn't be a concern anyways). If you're going to be doing bushings for track use, do it once and go solid, in my opinion...

Also, you mentioned you're not sure what to do with the front, as you've gotten M3 arms already. Turner and Bimmerworld both sell the Monoball bushing itself for the front control arm, you can buy that and press it in yourself (or take it somewhere) and not have to buy a new arm with it already installed. These also make a huge difference in steering feel, response and eliminates much of the front camber change under cornering.

Kinda off-topic but has anyone tried the Sparco Sprint seats? I've been chatting with OGracing and they seem to be a solid (slim) bucket alternative to the Evo.

That's what we did, plus the rear arms from Ground Control. The difference is MASSIVE. No more slop from the rear at all, totally planted. The front responds better, and steering feel is greatly improved. You will not be disappointed.

Sprints are for shorter, thinner drivers. At 6'1", 190, 32" waist, I am too tall to safely run harnesses with Sprints. That said, I find them pretty comfy and have run a good amount of miles in them with OEM belts in other cars.

If you're more leg than torso, you may just get away with it. My room mate is 5'10" and he fits perfectly in the Sprints. Again, this only applies if you're using harnesses/the harness pass-throughs in the seat. If you're using OEM belts, you're solid.

I know 4-points are not ideal, there aren't any decent bolt-in half cages these days are there? @Ginger - shoot me a pic mesaage of your harness/seat setup if you don't mind (650)515-8670
