A 9.5" is still not really wide enough for a 275 so it's a bit of a waste in that sense. But don't bother with a 17x9 +45, there are already several inexpensive options available in that size, either go higher offset (48 is good but I think really more like 52 would make the most sense seeing as the 9.5 is +63) to make it properly fit the rear or don't bother IMO.

Keep in mind that S2000 track guys are running 17x10 on 255's. Having the wider wheel on the same width tire helps keep it taut, and allows it to communicate better. In this instance, it would likely help the vague rear end feeling had by many people on the forums.

I voted for the 17x9.5" ET58/60.
That combined with the 17x8.5" ET40 would be a great set up.

Can anyone already has 17" Arc8s print out this template and see if Stoptech ST60s will fit?

Not 100% about hub diameter but these are 3 available in 5x120 from Tire Rack:

Kosei K5R 17x9 +45 17.05lbs $199ea

Kosei K8R 17x9 +45 16.95lbs $199ea

TRMotorsport FF10 17x9 +45 17.8lbs $177ea

Nugget , it's your lucky day. Picture quality not great, it's dark here:

I left 1/4" margins just in case:

Even with the precautionary margins, it clears both the barrel and the spokes on my 17x8.5 ET40 ARC8:

With a fender roll, you could run a 275 drag radial on the 9" wheel, and the 9.5" would be plug and play due to the higher offset.

Would the 9.5s allow a 245/275 without camber kit / rolling fenders? If so, I'd be interested!

I voted for the 17x9.5

The 9.5 should be plug and play for just about any tire from a 245/40 to a 275/40, depending on what you're trying to do with the car.

This. seriously. Not even being able to fulfil current 18" orders and they wanna design a new 17" specific fitment wheel. I call BS as well.

The 18" ARC-8 in 1 series sizes are back in stock from what I understand.

I posted a length response in another thread, which you can read here. I outlined the issues that resulted in a lengthy, but temporary shortage of 18" sizes. That problem is almost resolved now.

We've increased our team size, and we're using some newly developed tools to better manage and develop new projects like this. We've received a lot of feedback via the skunkworks site and we'll share information once we've analyzed to further.

To note: we have not selected offsets yet. I know this thread's title and poll already lists specific offsets, but those are not what we are pursuing, which may be creating some confusion. If a 17x9" wheel is produced the offset will be higher than ET45 from what we've seen so far. ET45 does not seem ideal. This car needs a true custom solution. An offset in the low 50's will be more ideal for r-compound fitment of meaty tires

We will conduct tests at multiple offsets to determine an ideal fit, and we will bring that recommendation back to the group for discussion and further voting.

For the record, and I realize I'm probably in the minority here, I would love a 1 series fitment 17x8 ARC-8. There is already a 17x8 et20 and 17x8 et25 (4 lug) and I think a 17x8 et40 or 45 would be great for 1 series owners looking to fit a nice 225 square tire setup.

225 square is not an ideal performance configuration. That may be a required setup for some very specific stock autocross class, but in general, that would be a narrower tire setup than what any other bmw model would typically run. Since we're performance focused, we try to configure and steer people to setups that are ideal, and we shy away from variations that don't really need to exist.

As a comparison of tires sizes for different chassis, we see the following:

E30 M3's are running 235. Most everyone runs 245 or 255 square on the E36 and on the E46 non-m. 265 or 275 square on the E46 M3, 255 square on the E9X non-m, and 275 square on the E9X.

17x8.5" et40 with 225/40/17 will fit now on a stock car. the tire's narrow and clears the fender front and rear.

I won't argue any of that because it's certainly true. I was mainly speaking from a 128i perspective where stock sizes are 205/225. For daily driving and the occasional autox, 225 square is plenty of tire to have fun with. I currently run 17x8 ET38 with 225s and it's almost too low of an offset up front (for my tastes). I have a set of your 17x8.5 ET40 ARC-8s for my E36 M3 that I need to try on my 128i.

My basis for the 17x8 ET40-45 was because of the 18" square sizing for the 1 series which is 18x8.5 ET45.

Either way, I'm a huge fan of Apex and will continue to be. I appreciate your support of the community and that's why I have 2 sets of your wheels for my race car.
