Anyone tried Michelin PS2 ZP (Runflats) on a 135i?

Pilot Sport PS2 ZP

The Pilot Sport PS2 ZP (Zero Pressure) is Michelin’s Max Performance Summer run-flat tire developed for selected performance sedans and sports cars. Initially introduced as Original Equipment (O.E.) on BMW 3 series sport package cars, the Pilot Sport PS2 ZP has recently expanded its O.E. applications to include Michelin’s first Corvette fitment on the highest performing production supercar in Chevrolet’s history, the 2009 Corvette ZR1. The Pilot Sport PS2 ZP is designed to combine world class dry road traction, handling and cornering, however it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Pilot Sport PS2 ZP molds an advanced tread rubber compound into an asymmetric tread design featuring Michelin’s Variable Contact Patch to keep more tread rubber on the road during a variety of maneuvers. The tread design features large outboard shoulder blocks and continuous intermediate and center ribs to provide a solid connection to the ground for control during cornering, braking and acceleration in dry conditions. The tread design also features wide circumferential grooves and lateral notches that help channel water through the footprint to enhance wet road traction. The tire’s internal structure includes two steel cord belts that are further reinforced by size-optimized, spirally wound polyamide to improve steering response and resistance to distortion while enhancing ride quality and high-speed durability. Pilot Sport PS2 ZP tires incorporate Michelin's newest generation of run-flat technology including a heavy-duty rayon carcass reinforced by rubber zero pressure sidewall inserts.

I'm thinking about getting these when my stock tires wear out, has anyone tried them (in 225/255) on a 135i or other 1 series?

While I try to keep my toy cars out of snow and ice, the near-freezing temperatures part of "not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice" is a rather limiting provision for a car in Colorado.

Then you probably don't want to be driving on the stock tires either, as they're summer tires too. I haven't seen a run flat in either the stock 215/245 sizing or the 225/255 sizing that's an all season. There are a few non-run flat all season options if that's what you're looking for in the staggered 225/255 sizing, but a large majority of the tires made in these sizes are strictly summer only.

Edit: crap, just realized I'm responding to a post over a year old, nothing to see here, continue about your regular business

Wait, so are 135i's leaving the factory with these now? If so, when did that start? I have a 135i on the way, so this is of interest to me.

The Dunlops are what came on my 2009. I have 10,000 miles on my car and my front tires look excellent, maybe 30% worn. My rear tires look pretty bad, maybe only 2-3000 miles left.

I'm thinking about getting these when my stock tires wear out, has anyone tried them (in 225/255) on a 135i or other 1 series?
YEP!!! Got them last week and I think I've just about burned off all the 'new tire slick that's been driving the DSC nuts'. They are just perfect. No rubbing/chafing, not as much road noise as you'd expect (they are run-flats) and smooth smooth ride compared with the original equipment Bridgestones. My bberry title message reads "he ditched the bridges to welcome the michies". Not disappointed at all. One thing tho - I get the feeling, just a wee bit, that the ride height has been increased by a lil bit. Speed bumps I used to just brush, I no longer. Time for the BMW performance suspension upgrade. Does anyone know if I'll have problems with that having moved up to the Michelins in 225/40 front and 255/35 rear?

Purrrfect, thanks! Not to hijack but the BMW PE which I fitted 2 a couple weeks ago made be burn through 3 tanks of gas between a Tuesday and Friday of the same week on an island on which the farthest distance between two points is aound 18 miles and the total area is 28 sq miles. That exhaust system is that good, . Intoxicating sound at every point in the rev range.

I have them on my 135. It's been 2 weeks and it feels like a different car. My impressions so far.
Grip is much improved.
They are a bit less noisy
Steering response is more rubbery or less prescise.
Overall ride is smoother

I'm still getting used to the new feel. I went one size wider front and rear. The car holdes better, but when it breaks free, it doesn't do it smoothly. It kind of bounces as the sidwalls flex, more than the stock RFT's did.

They really point out the deficiencies in the suspension.

How is this possible given that the 135 tire sizing is not one that the PS2 is available in? Did BMW upsize tires on newer 1 series?
