I think the $5-6k estimate is high. I hit a deer last year. The final estimate was about $6700 if I remember correctly. This is with both adaptive headlights, both kidney grills, front bumper cover, radiator core support, condenser coil, and some other odds and ends being replaced. The hood was also damaged which the body shop was able to fix. All parts used were genuine BMW parts with the exception of the condenser coil.

New front bumper. New driver front fender. New headlight? Probably $4-5k?

well she wasn't driveable. had to tow her home so I'm assuming some suspension work will have to be done as well.

well I see the adjuster tomorrow. will let yall know what they have to say. i don't think they'll total it, that doesn't make sense since it's a 2013 with less than 40000 miles on her.

If the repairs reach about 75% of what the insurance company thinks is the value of the car, you bet they'll total it. Because you said the car wasn't drive able. There's that wild card now. $4 to $5k is about what you're looking at for just pure body damage. Now add the mechanicals to this which we don't know how severe it is.

You might just have some minor suspension damage. This stuff isn't all that expensive to fix. Your real worry is frame damage. It takes a pretty severe hit to do it. I kind of doubt it looking at the cosmetic damage.

Your cosmetic damage is minor. If you are handy and willing to look for sources of parts, you could fix it fairly cheaply.

Headlight fender and bumper are going to be the most expensive parts. Couple supporting pieces underneath like headlight bracket. Probably need a new damper and couple control arms. Doubt there's much else that can't be straightened and reinstalled. Doesn't look like you have xenons so it shouldn't be too bad honestly.

Few thousand, could probably get the parts for 1.5 if you look around. Good opportunity to do a Msport front bumper, plenty of those used from 135i cars

auto nation collision center.
they had decent reviews. almost 2000 reviews averaging 4.5 stars. I thought about going with Caliber collision but they had really bad reviews regarding German cars especially.

Makes sense to go with them, especially assuming the they are part of the AutoNation dealer network and get a lot of BMW work.

yup, they are, and that's what I read. they have a deeper understanding of the European cars and generally don't screw things up.

From the picture I think the hood can be saved. I think it had to be towed home because the fender bent into the wheel. New fender, new bumper and some accessories, shoot the whole nose, and blend the hood into the fender, blend the fender into the door.

But what do I know. I like the other posters am just another nobody on the interwebz throwing out a wild guess with the aura of an expert based on two poor pictures.
