Michelin Pilot Sport 4, not 4S

Has anyone successfully purchased these in the US?

How are they?

Size: 205/50ZR17 89W
Size: 225/45ZR17 91W

Tirerack doesn't show them; Costco doesn't have them.

Thanks.

I'd take a look at the A/S 3+ for your purposes I think.

Thanks. I have the PSS, which I like, on my wagon, a less-sporting car than the 1. Why would I get less sporting tires for the 1?

Looking at your tire sizes for the most part and additionally, I'm not convinced you'd see the difference in grip in those sizes on a 128i between the A/S3+ and a Max summer tire. Benefit is the versatility.

Why wouldn't you then just get the PS4S?
Is there a reason why you're considering the PS4 instead of the PS4S?

Not looking to get into an argument but trying to understand your reasoning for going with PS4 over PS4S, but also saying that you would prefer a more sporting tire than the A/S 3+.

PS4S is not available in the correct sizes.

I had the PS4 in 235/45/17 on my 3 series. I found the steering response was very soft and the car lost some directional stability. After 1 week the tires were exchanged by the shop using "michelin satifaction guarantee" offered at the time. I had bridgestone RE003 fitted which had a firmer ride and better steering response.

I suggest to get the 4S tire, or just about anything except the PS4. Even if you fit 225/45/17, all round it should be fine as long as you take care to mark which are the front 7" rims and don't mix them up.

Thanks for the advice. I wish the PS4S was available for my car, but it's not. I could get the PS2, or wait for the PS4.

The PSS is also not available.

What's the specs on your wheels? They have 17" PS4S in 215 to 245 width, there should be a size that would work for you. Maybe not the exact size you specified, but a small variation shouldn't be an issue.

Stock m-sport 17" style m207 have 17x7" front wheels and 17x7.5" rears. That is why I suggested using 225/45/17 all round.

I've put wider tires on the front before and noticed that the handling felt a bit weird, granted it was a different BMW.

I could just get the PS2, but that seems like an old tire now and the 4 (and 4S) is better.
