A moment of silence...
..for my original PS2s at 8200 miles. They were a lot like zombies...dead a few thousand miles ago but still rolling around
And a warm welcome to my new sticky OEM size new Super Sports. The increase in grip is sensational |

Mission accomplished! For the first time since I've owned the car, I'm able to accelerate at WOT with no discernible wheel spin in second gear...and this is with an ESS Stage 1.5 tune This plus higher tread wear, excellent manners in the wet and relative low cost make them, in my opinion, the undisputed choice for the street I plan to safely go through two sets of rears before needing to replace the fronts. Only thing I don't get is that I have the exact same setup, PSS in original sizes and NO tune and can't get the power down in second. Traction enabled and it barely moves at all just keeps on blinking - MDM on or all nannies off the rear just starts going really sideways. Maybe I got a bad set of PSS..that's why I keep thinking about going Semi-Slicks oder superwide (285/295) in the back with PSS or a similar high performance tire. Cheers |

Remember though, a cold tire is a cold tire. You will not get grip. |

I have the stock size PSS on my car since December 2011. There is no comparison to PS2 or other real street tires (not streetable tires) in terms of putting power down. I am with stock engine tune and it just hooks at second with mild and pleasant tail movement with MDM on. Of course, if you go WOT and DSC on at the same time it will just blink and cut power. Also, they must be at operating temperature and with right pressures, as a matter of fact like all tires, so maybe a short commute and wrong pressures may be the reason for lack of grip?
On the other hand, I started to sense a slight bit of worsening in ride comfort and grip despite low mileage I have (just 7500 km.); thinking that tires are on since more than 1.5 year maybe they are heat cycled or really loosing their initial grip after some mileage. Honestly, I am not thinking about keeping them on till the end of tread life, will sell and put new ones (maybe again PSS) when they are like 50%.

285 in the rear really makes a big difference. When I put a set on, I realized that I had been spinning my rear tires with 265s in the rear the entire time. I would bet that you would see the same improvement as you did from PS2 to PSS when going from 265 to 285 or 295 in the rear. It's a SIGNIFCANT improvement in rear grip. I definitely recommend going bigger up front as well at the same time, if you value the ability to turn also. |

Mine was the same- now with the geometry tweeked the car puts down the 530lbftq better than the standard set up... My advice would be to get your geometry set up with no camber on the rear and some tow in dialed in, you'l get more grip/less wheel spin and less tire wear..

Seeing as how this is my daily driver, if I can't get ATLEAST 25k miles out of a set of tires, I am going to through a ton of $.

I think I still hold the record for the most miles on the rear stock PS2's @ 36,000 miles. That does include one track day! Gotta love highway miles...

I am truely impressed by some mileages you guys got on your rear PS2. I had 2 Sets and they both were gone by km 20.000. Great all around tyre, but i didn't even drift massively and had only 40 laps on the Ring with the 1M
