BMW Individual
hey guys
I recently totaled my 135i and I am looking into getting into a new one. With that said, I don't really want to get the same color (not that I didn't like it but I want to get something new), what is the process for BMW Individual? What are my limitations and what am I allowed to "customize" from the factory? Here is what I am looking for: 2012/2013 BMW 135i Estoril OR Monte Carlo Blue either Black, OR Gray, OR a Black/Blue combo interior (would need to see photos first) Paino Black OR CF Trim 6 speed M Sport Package Premium Package NAV Alarm HiFi Stereo Auto high-beams Heated Front Seats Satelite Radio BMW Apps Comfort Access BMW Assist BMW Performance Illuminated Door Sills BMW Performance Front Bumper BMW Performance Side Skirts BMW Performance Suspension I think that about wraps up the car (as if there weren't enough options) Am I able to get Ventilated seats as well? That would be GREAT!! lol Thanks to all in advance Benji

No 1 series cars are able to get Individual customization of any kind due to the plant at Leipzig not being equipped for it according to BMWNA when I ordered my 135i a couple of months ago. I too was willing to pay extra to get Estoril Blue, but wound up going with Le Mans blue instead. I fell in love with Le Mans blue on the E39 M5s and am pretty happy to be driving a car in that color. Deep Sea blue is nice also.
Ventilated seats are not available. You can not get Piano black interior with the M sport package. You can order a separate set of interior trim in Piano black and switch to that though after buying your car. In that case I would just get the BMW Performance Carbon Fiber interior. You can go to BMWUSA and build your own 135i with the black and/or the grey interior to see how you like that. Black/blue interior is not available unless you go aftermarket. There is a Sport Edition that was released earlier this year with a black interior with blue stitching on the seats and blue piping on the floor mats that looked really sweet. That is not available in the US now and may never be. Your choice of the hifi stereo means the Harmon Kardon upgrade right? That is what I would recommend unless you plan to go aftermarket. Think that is all of your questions. PS: Sorry you totaled your old car. It looked nice. Hope you are alright. |

+1. That is my understanding too. I was told BMW AG is trying hard to offer Individual colors on the next platform F22 - but we will have to wait and see. Btw... individual paint option is not cheap... it costs around $5K USd! You could always order a new 3er in Individual color options. ? |

You couldnt even get individual service for the 1m.
You can get most of what you want just loading it up. For the rest, you'll need to mod it. Don't fear the wrench, but know you will need to replace some of the seat leather with something perforated if you want to add in ventilation. The ugly side of that will be installing a switch that isn't ugly and matches the interior. |

i was never really a huge fan of light colored interiors, but everyone is telling me oyster over terracotta.
my last one had black, so i need to switch it up (considering i am getting the same exterior color)

Been out of town so have not been keeping up with this thread, but my suggestion would be Terracotta since it is a lot rarer and to me it looks better. The Oyster looks great but it is higher maintenance I think. It would be very easy to get in the car after doing yard work and leave dirty scuffs or grass stains that would require a lot of time to keep clean. That has not been an issue yet in Terracotta. Check my previous posts for my PCD thread. It has some interior pictures if you want to see it.

I'd say Oyster!
Side Note: WHY did BMW decide to do this black carpet, black door panels with color inserted, black plastic trims on the seat! Are you kidding me? Why do they do this? Screams cutting corners to me. It's only cool if you have a a dark colored car like Jet Black, Sapphire Black, etc. (coral red/black is nice) But the choices are limited if you want your exterior color to match the interior all the way. My Blue Water Metallic 2011 128i vert has all-grey interior, carpets, console, door panels, seat plastic trims and even the rollover protection pop-ups are matching grey. Now in 2012 there is no grey intrior option, and they have this 2 tone interior thing going on. My mom just too delivery of a Titanium Silver 128i vert with anthricite wood trim, coral red, and a moonlight black metallic top.

i am going to the dealership tomorrow.
i am most likely going with le mans blue on oyster - i dont think getting dirty will be THAT easy, considering this car will not be a daily driver and will only get driven on nice sunny days. i also dont plan on doing any yard work before getting into the car. thanks to all for the advice and ill let you know when i expect the car to come

finally pulled the trigger today.... my friends made this a REALLY tough choice showing me multiple used 08-09 M3s, and some 911 turbos in my price range, but i just felt more inclined to get the 135i again. (not to mention the stock pile of parts i have lined up for install immediately)
anyway, heres my build: 2013 135i Le Mans blue Oyster/Black Interior with Glacier Silver trim M Sport package Premium package II Technology package Manual trans Alarm Auto high-beams Harmon Kardon Sound Heated Front Seats Comfort Access and probably one or two things i forgot PLUS all these goodies: BMW Performance Electronic Steering Wheel V2, front bumper, side skirts, suspension, rear spoiler, front rotors Dinan Stage2 software then at home i have: VMR VB3 in Hyper Black brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/40 255/35 brand new Blackline LCI Tail lights and i plan to order the new bms n55 intake and will decide when i get the car how i feel about the angel eyes. i will keep you guys posted
