There's plenty of companies out there that strive at one end, and fail at another, but what does this have to do with the expectations of an N52 tune? By the way, expect more power. But like clockwork, the novelty of that added power will wear off in time, and you'll eventually want more. In reality, expect more usability and less work out of your daily driver. That's the way I argue it. |

Expect seamless OE integration.
This was not my experience in any way, shape, or form. Nor was it the experience of the large number of people I know with the tune.

I have their stuff on 3 cars, flawless. I also have 9 friends with their tune, all perfect.
I've had an amazing experience with evolve-- I'd even go so far as to say the best experience I've had with any company. My personal experiences are limited to their n52/s54/s62/s65/s85 tunes. What struck me most about their n52 tune was that it wasn't just the high end that gained-- there was a surprising increase in low end torque as well, where the stock n52 is quite lacking. |

I enjoy popping in this section of the forum because I love the cool progress that's developing with the N52 and fun power modding track.
I can only speak from the perspective of having my E46 and E90 M3 tuned by Evolve. From my personal experience, you can expect to work with individuals who are incredibly knowledgable of all things tuning. Evolve Automotive has the drive to think outside of the box and look beyond the status quo of tuning. I think this hunger to always improve on their product, find new ways of improving drivability, and of course, find little ways to sneak in extra ponies is what brought them to where they are today. So I'd say, expect to be very pleased once everything is all said and done the way you like! Evolve Automotive likes to cater to their clients based off what I've seen amidst myself and many friends. They want you as a client to be happy with the end product. With that being said though, no one is ever perfect. It's unfortunate that some people don't have as great of experience. Although rare, it is kind of to be expected. Fact is, we're all humans and we make mistakes. Sometimes things do fall through the cracks. But from what I've seen, Evolve Automotive tries their best to make things right. The aftermarket scene is about customizing and tweaking an original platform, running into hiccups can be expected at times. At any rate, I wish you the best! Picking up a 128i is one of my dreams because it seems to be the last of the true BMW NA heritage. I hope everything works out well and certainly looking forward to reading about your results.

More specifically, you can expect this in a 125i:

Did you offer to get a dyno that has remote access so they can tune it? Only way it is going to happen as the N51 isn't sold in England. That said, I can see why it isn't a priority compared to the rest of the cars they can tune.

Expect a big jump, especially coming from a detuned 125i. Please update the thread with your review of the tune! I have no doubts that you'll be happy with it.

Is it possible to just try and upload an n52 map and see if it works? I've never really read if the DME is actually different from an n52 DME.

That wouldn't run even close to correctly (or as well as a stock tune).

I have a couple of questions, but im a bit lost in terms of ecu...
Will the dealer notice the tune ? Would this make me loose my warranty ? When scanned at the dealer would the tune be deleted ? If the battery is removed and i need to do a power reset would the tune be lost ? Do i have to retune ? Thank you |

It's easy enough to return back to stock tune for dealer visits if you're super paranoid or are getting warranty work done. If the dealer updates your DME to a newer version the tune probably will get flashed over, but you can simply reflash your ecu. Disconnecting the battery won't affect the tune.

As a side note, I would consider getting a trickle charger when you are uploading the tune. The 1er DME is SLOOOOOW.

takes me 10-15 to write my AA files to my DME. i always hook up to a battery tender while doing so. it took about 45 minutes for it to read the original file off, which was awful.

As 631 said, about 40 mins or so all done. It's nothing to do with AA or Evolve, it is just an incredibly slow DME.
