What other fun cars do you drive?
To complement my 1, I'm thinking of getting an inexpensive convertible. The wife loves a drop top and wants to learn stick. I'd like a slow car I can drive fast. I love my 135i and it's not going anywhere. I'd like 2nd car that I can drive flat out for more than two seconds without hitting 90 mph seconds. Thinking of a bunch of cars from E30, first gen Boxster and more.
What else do you drive for fun? |

E30 if you can handle dealing with the quirks (issues) of an old car. 318(I) or 352(I) doesn't matter much because both are pretty fun in their own right.

Exactly what I was thinking. An old e30 might be fun too... IF you don't kind wrenching on it somewhat. But for a nice low hp modern sport-y car... the Miata is what I would look at.

you could always try a z3, you can get them with a smooth inline 6 too
I shyed away from the boxter because after taking a look at a few of them it was just too much of a PITA to fix them imo. If you want to go real old school you can try to find a porsche 914 |

My other fun car is a 2015 Dodge Challenger. It's a boat, but I have a lot of fun with it, and I am enjoying it equally with my 1.

Yeah, I have been trying to find a decent one for the past year or so to autox while slowly turning into a spec miata car. It's been tough but in the past 2 months or so prices have calmed down and clean cars have been popping up

I was looking for a while when I considered getting in one for the same reason and I found the prices are the lowest right before winter. Though I'd imagine this is impacted by location...

I fully endorse the notion of a Miata. More specifically, I am a huge fan of the NA, even better with the 1.6. It's only a matter of time until I break down and buy some kind of convertible. I also like the idea of an E36 325i convertible, but they are all falling apart by now.
To answer the question, my 135i is my fun car. My previous fun car was my '99 M3. I daily drive a Honda Civic that has been in my family since new. I like Honda engines and the simplicity of driving the car and not worrying. |

My previous car was a 2006 (NC) MX-5. Fantastic car. I would (and probably will) buy another one day.

Wish I still had my 1991 BMW 318is. 5 speed manual, 140 hp and I loved driving that little bimmer. Was not a burner but rock solid and great handling. maybe I could find one again.

My other fun car is my '87 911. Weekend/Summer/Track.
That said, I still love my 135i for daily, don't like any of the new BMW's. |
