It's in the PDF on page 2 or 3. Assuming it is similar to the 335i, you get around 340 peak RWHP. 384 peak Flywheel HP.

I'm assuming you mean at the wheels? Doesn't make sense otherwise.

I have seen quotes of 380/420, but that was assuming at the flywheel. Hard to say for sure what drive train loss is.

I have assumed Proceed was at the wheels too. I've seen 370/400 thrown around. If that is at the wheels, that is a bit of a difference between the two. I still will take reliability/longevity over raw numbers any day.

The Dinan numbers are on the 2nd or 3rd page of this PDF:

Thanks. Excellent numbers. Same as others and all the other benefits to boot.

I agree! ...and I never thought I would say that about any car. :roundel:

I've only had one ticket in the past four years in my current car (S4) with ~375 mustang dyno wheel hp. That speeding ticket was when it was stock. I love to hit the gas hard getting on the highway but always let off by the time I get 10-15mph over the speed limit. The acceleration in 2nd-3rd gear is what I really like. Some of the younger guys might get themselves into trouble but it is possible to buy the dinan software and not end up in jail.

Since I love torque.. the fact that my local bmw dealer is a dinan distributor was the deciding factor for me to buy a 135i. It will still be slower than my S4 but I'll have a warranty *and* that new car smell. I hate to sell the S4 but I'm definitely looking forward to the rear drive dinan upgraded 135i!

Did you mod your S4? Thing must be quick if you think your Dinan-tuned 135i will still be slower than the Audi.
[The biturbo Audi S4 is the high performance version of the "B5 Chassis" Audi A4 quattro. This version of the S4 was sold from model years 2000-2002. Don't let its understated looks fool you. With a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds, (electronically limited) top speed of 145mph, and superlative handling, it will leave many pure sports cars in the dust, can compete handily with a BMW M3 (probably its closest competition) on the racetrack and is unsurpassed when the road conditions are wet, snowy, or icy. The S4 beat the M3 in a Motor Trend comparison, its abilities under bad road conditions not even considered. ]
Even the 2008 S4 is only putting up 5.3 0-60. I would imagine that since C&D put up a 4.7sec 0-60 on a bone-stock 135i (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test), that a Dinan tune would knock a couple tenths off this figure and smoke a stock S4, and perhaps a tuned S4, depending on what's under the hood.

Yep, biturbo B5 S4's are very easy to mod. Not cheap but easy. The S4 comes with small borgwarner K03 sized turbos but larger oem K04's (from the B5 RS4) bolt on and there are several stage 3 kits available that use them. I just did 12.1@119.5 this past fall on 100 octane but shifting carefully. I've had it modded for the past 4 yrs. Regardless, I think the dinan'ed 135i will be a fun car.

I started with the APR stage 3 kit.
http://goapr.com/Audi/products/stage3_27tko4.html

The newer S4's (newer than '02) do not have turbos. Quite a few guys have sold them and bought the older B5's.

im very interested to see some actual dyno numbers for the dinan tune. 2k seems like a lot for just a tune. the warranty aspect is nice, but my evo hasnt had a warranty after the first month. i know if i do get a 135 its going to be slower than my evo, but it wont be stock for long.

So, JoelK, what's your final word on the Dinan tune now that you've had it for a while...

Hey. Sadly I'm not out tonight so I can answer this now.

1) definitely more power. i don't consider it a massive upgrade but it's better.
2) definitely less pedal sensitivity. though it has its upside in that you get a smoother ride and you have greater throttle control.
3) no lag
4) much meaner sound ...

I'm very happy with it. If you are a fan of a jumpy, sensitive throttle then I'd advise waiting to see if this software update comes to fruition. As I said before, I'll probably get the update but I'm very satisfied currently.

I feel like I'm repeating all I've said before. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Hmm.. I wonder if the ecu controls the flap in the exhaust. The one related to the golf tee mod. If so, I also wonder if dinan changed the software so it opens sooner.

Please stop posting stuff like this. It's killing those of us waiting for our cars still!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

p.s. I planned on getting the update, but my feeling is not to spend the 2k on something that smooths out the engine. I love twitchy throttles that you barely touch and your dog does a back flip out the back <in my Vert>.

Dinan is suppose to be working on a fix for the soft initial pedal feel. They're going for a more linear power delivery, but many people complain about the soft pedal. The fix will be free, but unfortunatly, the dealer will still charge for the "install."

Congrats. It might take a few days for you to adjust to the tune because of the difference in pedal sensitivity. So don't freak out at first.... you'll love it after a while I'm sure. :w00t:
