Plastic, I can't even guess.
Metal, I'm guessing they are threads from over torquing the drain plug, pulled threads. |

I changed the drain plug to a magnetic one, so I have the OEM one to measure. It's diameter is close to your measurement. I suspect the guy above is correct. You had better check for leaks.

Sounds to me like your Vanos bolts have broken. The bolts that hold the cam sprocket together tend to shear off. Check your VIN to see IF the recall has been done. This only effects N55, up to 2012 M.Y.
When a BMW dealer does the recall... they replace the broken bolts and only change the engine oil. They don't pull the oil pan off to look for metal parts. That is not right, but it is what it is. Those alloy parts could be threads of your oil sump. ? The plastic piece is probably from one of your timing chain tensioners/guides/ramps.
