Question ► Any Expats Here ?

for those who are expats, what country did you move to and what industry of work?

over the past 2 years i have found myself wanting something new. looking to move to singapore, hong kong, or thailand as an expat.

what are your experiences and how did you find a job if not from company relocation?

Interesting places to want to live. Two places you will live in a place probably smaller than you would in NYC and then in one place you would live like a king, haha.

I'd love to retire part of the year in Asia though. However, I cannot work remotely, therefore, I am stuck in the US.

I was an expat in Singapore for four years in the security industry. I was transferred there by my company when I got a promotion. I lived a life of luxury... penthouse and company car. Expats are spoiled there. If you can find a way to get transferred to Singapore, don't hesitate. The only tough part is adjusting back to reality when your contract is up.
Oh I was also an expat in Germany but was not spoiled there and it's not an easy place for foreigners to live, in my opinion.

Australian living in Canada, more for personal than work reasons. A fine country but family is family, don't do it forever, it doesn't work.

Canadian living in the US...not exactly an exotic move, but moved under a typical expat deal. Great benefits for the first couple of years, but now we are here living like everyone else
