Cleaned my intake valves this weekend. There are a few pics attached below
None of them are pretty, partially because the pics suck, and partially because, well...,...
kids,
trust me when I say...

93,000 miles is way (way!!!!) too long to wait before cleaning your intake valves!! Holy Schnikes!!! These things were totally beyond nasty!

Also, fresh IM and TB o-rings mmmmmmm

She's soooo much happier now! I've put ~30 miles on her and she's starting to adapt nicely indeed to all that fresh new air!

The Blizzaks are now on

And took it on a 4 hour roadtrip up to Ottawa on Saturday with my cousin to help with his next car.

Fixing brakes and searching new tires

I heard that something was wrong with my brakes and went to workshop. After just a little time we noticed that little rock has went between my disc brake (or what it's called) and brake pad. It damaged my "disc brake". I had to change both sides. Luckily it was quite easy job.

Also i thought that I have to buy new suv winter tires for my bigger BMW. I checked some models from https://www.nokiantires.com/tires/su.../winter-tires/, and there was some good options but I'm not sure do I want Nokias or something else.

Next week I have inspection with my 118. Hope it goes well

Actually, maybe I exaggerated, and do have a tiny bit to offer.
Top notch Summer performance tires are awesome in the summer, and in the rain. Useless in snow.
Had a set of Bridgestone All-Season's on my Jetta 20 years ago (they've only gotten better.) Doesn't snow where I live, but I took it up skiing in Tahoe, both in spring where the only snow is the icy parking lot, and in a blizzard that had my buddy's mud-tired Toyota pickup scrabbling for traction. I had zero issues the whole way up.
I liked those tires okay in the summer, but they couldn't hang with the Potenza's I replaced 'em with. (Had an SUV for snow duties by then.)

Also, actual snow tires blow all-seasons away when there's actual ice or snow to contend with.

So, I guess it depends on what you want. Do you want to be compromised but functional at all times and never be inconvenienced to change tires? Michelin, Bridgestone, Conti, Yoko, Nokian and Vredestein make some highly regarded decent-performing snow-capable all-season Grand Touring tires.

Do you want to optimize performance, handling, safety and grip for all seasons and conditions to enjoy your BMW to the max? Get some max performance summers, and dedicated snows.

Good luck!
Thanks a lot! I have to think a while before I'm buying anything. I need new tires also for my X5 so I really need to check prices etc. But thanks a lot that really helps.

I just (literally five minutes before reading this) bought them off someone else, but thanks! If I need anything else for it, I know who to ask...

Just some trim stuff left to wrap and that'll be done. Can't wait to see it with the refreshed headlights.

I'm getting a low coolant level light the last couple days, but only immediately on start up. It goes away after a couple of seconds, haven't scanned yet, but seems like odd behavior.

This car is starting to become enough of a PITA that I'm starting to consider moving on, especially when I see the numbers that fbo/tuned b58's put down compared to the n55.

Could just be the level sensor, less than $15, and can be done with the expansion tank in the car, with coolant in the tank.

I hadn't seen that list before; I'll be coding them in next time I have NCS attached to my car.
Thanks. I've decided not to mess with the two Delta_Psi_Beta limit, since the 135i doesn't have the option to change the second one. I've also skipped the Steering Angle Characteristic Curve, since the 1M has a different steering rack, and I'm wondering if that might affect things.

That was my suspicion as well, based on other issues I've seen on the threads. I've also burned through 2 quarts in 1500 miles or so, yay! Just had the ofhg done a few months back, my gut says this is head gasket related.

Mine did that when the coolant reservoir started going. I think as it heats up either expansion or motion gets it to a satisfactory level. For a little while...

True, I also had one fail like this, the cap wouldn't keep pressure anymore. Got a new cap from Autozone and it was good to go.

Yesterday I clear coated the cf roof spoiler with a uv protectant clear coat & today I polished it. I think it looks great, for it being my first time doing it.

Swapped pads/rotors/wheels after my last track day of the season

First time at NJMP Thunderbolt, awesome track! It was an open day with a private group, so plenty of run time. Was misting and wet most of the time, so the LSD got a workout. Finally dried out for a few runs in the afternoon though, great time. Gonna be a long wait until next season.

I loaded up the MHD BEF to combo my JB4. Car seems a lot smoother, but only logs will tell me if that's the case.

Changed the oil a little sooner than it's due as I'd rather not be doing that in January, lol.

Swapped in LED amber turn signal bulbs front and rear. They are SO. DAMN. BRIGHT!

Seriously. Here's a comparison photo (left is stock, right is the aftermarket LED):

No errors thrown and no hyper flash as claimed, but I coded the bulb checks off (cold and warm) to prevent flickering on start up.
