The change was late in 2010 models. I think Sept(?) builds. Pre 2010 models had the same 433Mhz TPMS.

The 2008 sensors should work from what I have read posted here.

The date for the sensor change in the 1series was 9-1-10. Models built after that used a different sensor.

I have a March 08 build date and have bought two sets of wheels and tires from Tire Rack with sensors in both. One set was purchased March 2009 and the other set November 2010. I put the wheels on the car and drive off without resetting the TPMS and no dash lights.

Keep in mind that ANY TIME you change tires or add air into the tires... you SHOULD reset the TPMS. This will tell the system what the traget pressure is. So it can warn you of a deflation/flat.

Simply adding air doesn't require a reset unless you wish to change the reference pressures.

Changing a tire without a reset will trigger the warning.

That makes sense. I have a 2011 135i (July build)and I'm using sensors from an 2008 135i. No issues.

I was told pre September 2010 there were four sensors (one in each wheel well) after September 2010, there is only one sensor. They still operate off 433 Mhz

Just looking for a little clarification....

Will these TMPS's work?
I have a 2011 135cic (May '10 build).
I am looking at buying wheels that are currently on a 2008 135i coupe with, what I assume are, 2008 TPM sensors from TireRack.

Thanks!

EDIT:
I just re-read the earlier posts. I think that I am OK. There seemed to be some confussion in the earlier posts between 2010 model years and build dates.

You should be Ok.

Build dates before Sept/2010 use the old TPMS sensor. Build dates before Sept/2010 use the 433K Hz sensors. After Sept BMW changed the whole system design & freq.
