Talking 400M Style wheels on my e82 m sport?

Hello all,

Ive got my old M Sport alloys from a f30. My current wheels are corroded and need a refurb. Is it possible to fit the 400m style wheels to the e82? The 400m wheel specs are:

Front - 8" x 18" with offset of 34

Rear - 8.5" x 18" with offset of 47

The current wheels I have are the 261m and they're specs are:

Front - 7.5J +48

Rear - 8.5J +52

The 400m set are just sitting in the garage and imo look better, just need to make sure they fit. Just another thing to mention, the 400ms dont have any tyres on atm so I've got the option to mess around with different variants.

Thanks guys, 😁

The rears will be fine but I think you will have a problem with the fronts.
The wheel is 1/2" wider (13mm) than stock 135i front wheel (7 1/2").
The offset is 14 or 15 mm different so your wheels will be out that much already.
You cannot fit skinny narrow tires to the 8" wheels so any reasonable tires you install are most likely going to rub their outer edges on the front fender.
I just did a somewhat similar installation on my car but with 17" wheels.
The different offset on the fronts is your main concern.
The rears would be fine with reasonable tires.
You also need to consider the overall diameter of the tires which is most likely going to be too tall which will add to your problem.

Garage List
it'll be ok the et34 on the front will stick out of the fender well to much for my taste and as long as your suspension is tight and bounce rebounds minimized little-no rub. older suspension it'll rub. Rear no problem
