Vivid Racing, HORRIBLE
I'm sure Vivid will post here so I'll leave out the email convos until they actually respond.
Short story. Bought Cross Coilover for 26xx.xx dollars. Got these as a gift while Vivid was running a promotion for 19xx.xx. to 1 addict memebers Vivid advertised 9k spring rates for the front, coilovers came with 8k. Coilovers damaged during shipping. 2-3 weeks later, after multiple phone calls, damaged part arrives at wrong address (not shipping companies fault, all on vivid's sales rep) Put the suspension on, front bottoms out cause the spring rates are not stiff enough for the amount of shock travel. Vivid blames me, and says the front bottoms out because the car is too low. Last time i checked, you lower the car with the shock lenght, not the perch spring, so it doesnt matter how low you go, the shock travel is still there. Vivid claim the car is too low again. Btw I had the car at stock height and the front still bottoms out, Ive tried all different damper settings and added a ton of preload. This was all documented in other threads weeks agao prior to today's convo....same result. I contact vivid about the price difference the second the coilovers arrived undamaged. Nothing gets resolved. Fiance calls MULTIPLE times, the sales rep cannot make a call and tells here multiple times that an owner will call her back. Never calls her back. Fiance gets pissed, filles a complaint with the BBB. Vivid emails her back within seconds. AFter 10 or so emails, Vivid says if this stays off the forums they will give me back 250 on a future 500 dollar purchase. I told them i already i got screwed out of over 600 dollars...they're joking right. So here i am. Vivid now has complaints with the BBB, and you guys get to hear just how they treat some1 who blows over 2.5k with them in one shot. Absolute disgrace. This will go on e90, clubrsx, n54, nosiac, cobaltss, srtforums...when i meant forums....i meant all of them Dan summary; wrong spring rates wont apply promotional price despite the coilovers being purchased during the promotional period. damaged/wrong shipping problems Shit customer service, no phone calls. Whole thing took over 3 months. Good Day. |

Suprised they haven't chimed in yet. I really was wanting that 3D diffuser too

Generally I try not to bad-mouth vendors much, as they're generally the ones that pay the bills for web forums. Sure they make mistakes sometimes, but most try to resolve the issue and keep the peace. Keep in mind though, that not all mistakes should be taken lightly... The whole point of a web forum (from our perspective) is to help out the community.
There have been some other companies that I feel have been treated unfairly due to greed around these parts; however, I've stated my feelings to the "powers that be" and left it at that. During those conversations, I made it very clear that situations like this would arise with Vivid and that there should be more concern about giving members access to quality vendors vs. those willing to pay $Texas/month simply to BE a vendor. Go do random searches regarding Vivid on some Evo and Subaru forums and you'll understand why... This sort of behavior is NOT uncommon for them. There's at least one board that I'm aware of that Vivid is the *only* vendor ever to be banned due to their terrible customer service and other shenanigans. ...Stealing ideas and designs for parts is a whole other subject, but I'm sure we'll undoubtedly see that sort of action in the future, as well.

I also had a bad experience with them!
Here's my story: So I saw they have the Hartage rear lip for sale (its not cheap). So I bought that and some HKS filter replacements. Ok so about 1 week later it says my stuff shipped. Then I get my package and all I have is the HKS filters. Then I call up Vivid and ask them where the lip is and they tell me oh its on its way. So about two weeks later when it hasn’t come I call them again and ask and they tell me “oh its on its way from Japan.” I was kind of surprised since it’s a Hartage Lip (aka Germany) but I took their word for it as I generally like to think people are honest ( I mean I don’t know where the lips are actually from). So about 3 weeks later when there is no update and after calling them and emailing with no response I finally get a hold of another person and ask again. He says that Hartage USA is relocating or something and it is causing issues. I was like o…k.. so you guys lied to me before? (The girl probably assumed taht since i bought HKS filters the rest of my stuff was japanese and fed me some B.S.) Fantasitc…So then I ask when it’s coming and he says he doesn’t know. Then I ask him to cancel my order and he tells me to call the online sales rep. Great customer service. Luckily I did get my refund. I didn't think it was that bad but since i see others having issues i though i'd share. |

Ive dealt with 4 different people there. Dan seems to be the one that calls the show and part owner or the owner arcording to the BBB. Either way this company is a joke, i would stay far far away.

This is all par for the course as far as Vivid Racing is concerned. Coming from the Subaru community before this, with my '04 STi, there was pretty much nothing but complaints about Vivid. I will never purchase anything from them because of this.
