You guys fit 255's up front?!

I'm looking for some track wheels. Preferably 17x8.5 40-45+ Do you think a 235 would be too narrow? I'm afraid of putting 245 square because it might rub etc. let me know what you think. Send me a pm or reply here is great!

255/35/18's can be done with the right amount of front camber with the 18" setup! A 235/40/17 would not be too narrow on an 8.5" width rim and should be a direct fit with street tires. You shouldn't have any rubbing front or rear with this setup.

If you roll your rear fenders and dial in some front camber, 245/40/17 street tires are definitely doable all around on this car as well. This is a great bang for your buck setup. We prefer it over the 235 setup because we like meaty tires for their aesthetics and their performance!

245/35/18 and 265/35/18 (Bridgestone S-04) on staggard ARC 8's on a stock 135i convert with the sport package.

I put them on to see how they would look, expecting to take them off if/when they rubbed in the front, but they dont.

Dinan camber plates, KWv3's, and M3 F&R arms are going on soon.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some 18" ARC 8's. 8.5/45, 9.5/62 and I have a tire fitment question.

Using PSS tires, Dinan camber plates, M3 front ctrl arms and KW V1 with moderate lowering - what's the best tire widths for spirited driving with a few track days?

I know the rears can go fairly wide 265/275, and I was thinking I could do 245/35 in the front? Is this reasonable given my current set up? Thanks.

I have Bridgestone s04's in 245/35's and 265/35's on staggered ARC8's and they fit well with the setup your considering with -2.5 camber in the front and -1.5 in the rear and no fender work. In the pics of my car in the link above I also have 3mm spacers for front strut clearance. (The 9.8" section width 245's very lightly rubbed the front strut, I drove it 300 miles before adding spacers.)

IMO for serious track day use you'll want stiffer springs than the KW's come with, especially in the rear. Don't get me wrong, I can drive my car a lot faster than stock but it still is not completely neutral and the car still understeers at mid to high speeds when pushed hard.
I plan to drive my car as-is this summer since I just did all these mods and install a LSD this winter and look at possibly stiffer rear springs.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to see if spacers are required for the super sports.

If a tire that is wider than 235/40/18 is being used on the front wheels on your 1-series, at least a 3mm wheel spacer must also be installed, otherwise the tire will start rubbing the strut or spring perch. The 245/35/18 tire size would require either M3 front lower control arms, or camber plates, in order to achieve negative camber in the front due to how close the wheel and tire is in relation to the fender. With coilover setups utilizing a cone shaped progressive front spring (KW, ST, or PSS9) a 235/40/18 tire is the maximum front tire width for some high performance summer tires because the progressive spring takes up too much room on the strut side creating rubbing issues once a wider tire is used. If you are planning to track your car, we suggest looking into coilover setups that utilizes linear race springs, such as Ground Control or TC Kline.

David, do you know if the front PSS tires will rub in a 245/35 size if I have KW's with progressive front springs, M3 arms, 3mm spacers and Dinan camber plates?

Just ordered my Arc8s 8.5ET45 and 9.5ET62 wheels and I was going to order tires tomorrow. Don't want to rub. Thanks

Do you know what suspension is being used by this car? It sits perfectly and looks very flush. Thanks

UPDATE: I was able to run PSS 245/35 in the front without any problems. I'm at -2.5 deg. camber. Using M3 arms and Dinan camber plates. I installed the wheels at -1.5 and had a bit of rub up front. I'm also lowered about an inch on KWs.

We believe that this 135i was lowered on Ground Control coilovers.

Great update, thank you for providing more insight on the PSS on the 1-series. Did you use any spacers for the front to clear the KW struts? If so, what size?

Yes, I forgot this important part. I used 3mm spacers on the front. I could have got away with no spacer but it was SO close ~1mm - so the spacer is a issuance policy.

Sounds identical to my setup I have been running for a couple months with no rubbing. I plan to lower some more this weekend and see if I can still keep it from rubbing.

After getting used to the 245/265 I now really want to see if I can squeeze 255's up front.

Do you do wheel and tire packages or just wheels?

Could you pm me a price for a 1-series fitment (et45,et62) set of wheels (gunmetal) and for same wheels with toyo R888 (if you do packages)?

Would be local pickup and can pay in whatever form gets me the best deal.

Thanks
