Has anyone though of cutting out a vent/duct in the remaining plastic area to allow more air flow?

I also removed my foglights and installed the modified 135i intake parts...wasn't exactly easy as the 125i doesn't have the oilcooler on the passenger side but it turned out nicely and I love the looks of it only the "mesh" in the middle is now hurting my eyes as it doesn't macht the open intakes lift/right and the kidney grills on top...

Here is my result
I like it. Took 15 minutes for me. I didn't bother cleaning the edges where I cut but you really can't notice. Anyone who tries it, I made the mistake of putting a little too much pressure on the blade at the end, so when it finally cut through, I nicked the paint a little bit. But in all honestly, my bumper is in poor shape as it is so no one will notice one more imperfection!
thanks for the idea! Here are a few more pics with some better lighting Last edited by chris82; 08-10-2013 at 02:33 PM.. |

Looks great, THANKS! I was debating how this would look on a SGM but you totally have me sold!

My car is BSM and I've been lurking around this thread to decide whether or not to do it on mine.
I feel it looks great on light colors / SGM, but not so great on BSM/Jet black IMO. It makes the car look more aggressive as others have said on lighter colored 1ers, but on black, it makes the front end look incomplete / half-assed. Is it just me or does anyone else also think the same? |

Just had to do it. Picked up shorty hack saw at Ace for 5.99. Took about 5 minutes.
