Time for a new turbo I think...
So...first track day of the season to shake out the car and myself. Apparently it worked. 4th session, car goes into limp mode under hard acceleration.
Symptoms: Light blue smoke from exhaust...at startup now every time and intermittent after that. No boost. (To be fair, it was an original stock turbo with 109K with over 25 track days on it) Codes: 28A1 - Intake absolute pressure, plausibility: Pressure too low. 2C58 - Charging Pressure control: Switch-off as consequence 2C86 - Charging Pressure - Ambient Pressure, Comparison: Charging Pressure too low. Shadow codes: 2820 - Absolute Pressure sensor, intake pipe: Multiple fault. (I think this one is a symptom, not a cause) 2C7F - Charing Pressure sensor. Multiple fault. (I think this one is a symptom, not a cause) Car will not build boost. Here's the datazap after I reset codes and tried to go out on the track. Went into limp mode on the entrance cones. https://datazap.me/u/andyw/limp-mode...og=0&data=3-14 So, anything else I should look for? Other problems a turbo going could cause? When I replace the turbo, what other work should I do? I am thinking water pump/thermostat, engine mounts, and oil pan gasket (not leaking, but it is over 50K old...).

I wonder if just a torn diaphragm in the diverter valve could cause your issues?
And also, a DV upgrade would be a good idea when you replace your turbo of you haven't already done it. |
