Awesome result. It's not all about power at the track!

TimMc, true with some track, while some tracks would really reward powerful cars. From what I know of this one though, it's very tight. Almost go kart track like!

Bloody amazing times you pulled Jono, we also did well against the Elise

Need to also mention damage I've sustained on my rear suspension in the collision. Letting the car take a hammering around for a whole day can't be good for that

a quick google of the elise S suggests a 1.8L 100kW powerplant... even considering its light weight, it's in the same class as the x25i's and the gti.

did they find actual mechanical damage when they inspected it? that's nuts... you were still able to break 0:50 with no front tread and broken rear suspension

I thought the Elise's FAR superior handling, tyre package and weight advantage would totally eat all normal cars on a go-kart track like MDTC. Our cars are definitely not in the same class considering the specs. You're just such a crack driver

Had quick assessment today - right rear left is quite out of alignment. That's either from damage sustained in the collision, in which case they said there could be damage to the suspension or I just happen to coincidentally have that single wheel out of alignment while the rest seem to be fine.

As for my tyres, I got some Direzza star specs coming, can't wait! The current fronts are not road worthy

haha won't be so crack on a power course mdtc is a tight technical course with complex corners, next time i want some high speed sweeping turns action!

gotta be from the morning. good that they found the misalignment regardless, can't even begin to imagine how much time u lost cos of that...

Chylld do you have any mods?

A 135i should still be faster than a 125i no matter what course you're on, even that Evo X should have done better? Or was this more of an amateur meet?

The Elise on that track with a decent driver should have crapped all over us at MDTC. The track suits well sorted handling cars vs high HP cars.

Jono was driving out of his skin in the 125.

Um yep. Last Sunday I did a 49.9 in my 19yo 1.6L naturally aspirated stock standard MX-5 with street rubber (RE001). I've previously done a 49.3. MDTC is a big leveller between cars. I also had a drive of a friend's registered & modified 1.8L MX-5 (NB8B) on R-specs (no turbo ... yet!) - did a 45.5 or something like that. Very well set up car! He has only 90rwkW.

my car is 100% stock, on the original runcraps (19k kms). only thing i did was put 40psi cold into each tyre

i think i just had the racing line figured out a bit quicker, mdtc is a very technical track rather than a power-oriented one
