New texas license plate design
Ok guys am I the only one that doesn't like the new license plate design. It's way too colorful for my tastes. It bothers me enough that I'm looking at vanity plates. Is there any way you can order the previous plate design. I know it's really not a big deal, but I was still looking at my options regardless.

Not sure about it being ugly but what exactly does Texas have to do with the World Trade Center and the Pentagon? I understand that everyone wants to fight terrorism, mostly notably our ex-president, but Texas does not come to mind when you think of those two iconic facilities.

I don't think it's bad, just has more color than the bland plain white current one. Being on a car the white plain one looks much better though.

I'm not a big fan of the new plate design. We've had specialty plates in the past - Texas Stae of the Arts on a red Navigator and Texans Conquer Cancer on the Indie Blue/WEhite MCS - and they looked OK. Not sure what I'll put on the 135.

If anyone remembers the brief stint of myplates.com, they were an Australian company that was trying to break into the US to make some really cool custom plates for Texas. After a short while and sucky economy they closed shop in the US. Well it appears they are back in business and will be offering plates again soon. Here are some of the plates they were offering.

Be prepared to pay a much higher price if you want a vanity plate in Texas:

i find the "fight terrorism" plate appropriate as just another channel for the stereotypical ignorant redneck texans to express their profiling against muslims. but then again this is just me expressing/ranting my frustrations towards the ignorant people i've met down here. (coming from NY)

The U.S. needs those Texans to balance out the stereotypical ultra liberal, yuppie, credit card living yanks. If you don't like it.. well you know the rest. Last edited by ianthegreat; 01-14-2010 at 08:37 AM.. |

i don't consider myself to be a liberal or a yuppie. in fact, i appreciate some aspects of conservatism. its just the real ignorant knuckleheads (either uneducated, or politically incorrect) that drive me over the edge (sometimes almost literally like the TEXAS EDITION CHEVY SILVERADOS).
