Maddad

So I have decided to finally put an exhaust on my car. I have been running the stock exhaust, except for dp's, and I have decided to buy the Maddad Midpipe and Whisper axelback.

I would like to hear from other Maddad owners about how you like their exhaust and midpipe.

I am running Cobb Stage II, Helix Intercooler, AA Downpipes and Drop In.

I've only heard good things about their exhausts! I need to pick up that Whisper axelback too.

I have their mid pipes and axle back. I love the sound and have had quite a few people comment on how good it sounds.

Are you also running catless down pipes?

I have dps and the MadDad Whisper axleback but stock midpipes. I like it. Sometimes I wish it were louder, sometimes quieter so it must be about right.

I don't think maddad has any more exhaust in stock.
Good luck trying to get maddad exhaust.

I got tired of waiting and cancel my maddad exhaust order last time.

If you can get it, I highly recommend. I've got the mids and whisper axelback. I get comments all the time on how it sounds just right - my SA at the dealership even asked where he could find one for his E92....

It's not "pingy" and has a nice deep tone. I wish it were louder at times, thinking DP's would make it perfect - that's something I'll consider in the future.

Also, install was perfect and straight forward, everything fits great. No issues -

Nope. I do have a set of cp-e carted pipes waiting to go in though. My car is on its way to England right now though so cannot tell you how that sounds.

I have and I think that it would be too loud with DP's and a midpipe.

Do you think the stock midpipes with the street exhaust and catless dps will be to loud? I am debating if I want to go that route since the whisper is out of stock

Exhaust sound is very subjective and my loud might be different than your loud.

If you are ever planning on replacing the stock mids, which I highly recommend, then I would not get the street exhaust. The biggest restriction on the 135 stock exhaust are the midpipes and it makes sense to replace them if your goal is to gain more power.

I got very lucky and got a new Whisper exhaust last week. I think that they are due to be back in stock in about 6 weeks.

This must be my first post in maybe a year. Talk about being MIA from the forum. Whispers have been out of stock for a couple of weeks but are shipping again starting end of next week.

"Loud" is an opinion and is different from one person to another. That said, if your running catless DPs I'd stay with a Whisper. When we designed the Street Series it was designed with the intended audience being the guy that wanted to keep most of the exhaust stock and just get that bada$$ sound without it being over the top loud or inducing drone headache. The Whisper was designed to be the starting point of what would be a modular build up as your dollars allowed. To give you some perspective. A Whisper axleback with the MadDad Mipipe and stock downpipes is a hint "quieter" than just a Street Series connected to the factory midpipe and dp. I personally think the Street Series would be too loud. I've never tested a Street Series with a catless DP or even a performance Midpipe though so that is a bit of speculation. The Whisper is as refined as the factory axleback but with better sound character under heavy throttle. My recommendation would be do the Whisper axleback by itself along with your current catless DP. If that isn't loud enough and you want to turn it up then go for the midpipe. You may find the axleback alone fits the requirement and you've just saved some change on a midpipe you didn't need. The Street Series can turns heads on its own with no other pipe swapped on your car..its loud enough by itself, I just worry it would be over the top with the catless DPs, but as I kicked off with, loud is different for each person.

, alive and kicking. I don't really want to hi-jack this thread so I will update the old quad forum thread later today, back on track and some good stuff happening this month.

Back to this thread...you might want to sneak a peak at this post:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...9&postcount=16

He's running AR dps, MadDad midpipe and MadDad Whisper...seems to be a good combo by his review. Not sure if he's DPs are catted or catless so you'd have to ping him.
