2008 128i cp vs 2011 128i cp
I traded my 2008 128i for a new 2011 128i. Here's some of the differences on the 2011 vs the 2008.
- 6 audio speakers, down from 10 - Twetters removed from the A pillar - No center ash tray, now open compartment - Different style valve caps - No split compartment for the center console - Controls for the heated seats moved up, integrated with the main temperature controls - New ALL knob to control cabin temperature with one knob - ALL temperature knob eliminates REST function - Standard HD radio - Moonroof no longer standard - Key slot for trunk has been eliminated - New design for outside mirrors (bigger) - New design for center wheel caps - Gas cap tightens in one click - Low tire symbol shows which tire is low |

The low tire icon is part of a software upgrade. My 2008 now has this from two software updates ago.
Regarding the sound system, are you sure your 2008 didn't have an upgraded Hi-Fi system? |

Changing lanes in the DC area is a necessity. We have eight lane roads with tree possible destinations in some spots. So if you stay in a particular lane long enough, you will not end up on the road you thought you would.
That tire display looks cool. I did not know my car had that! Personally, as a non-smoker, I like the ash tray delete and replace with cubby. I'd like to find the euro steering wheel cubby too, which I can only imagine is deleted on US cars because our hands are fat and would get stuck when reaching into the cubby to grab a beer or a pack of smokes? (LOL!!!) The main reason I did not get a coupe was the lack of a full glass roof, not a moon roof, but all totally glass, preferably photochomatic with a manual adjustment. That and for the real enthusiast, we need a carbon roof/hood/doors/trunk option that saves at least 500 pounds. BMW and MINI are guilty of bloat just as alot of companies (Microsoft) are. There is a funny bit in the Italian Job movie where a guy points to a bunch of parts that are taken off one of the modified gold thieving MINIs. "What's that stuff?" he asks. The mechanic "I don't know, but taking it off the car saved 500 pounds!" |

I do not smoke and nobody has smoked in my 128i but I think the cubby looks cheap. I put small stuff (change, valve stem caps) in the ash tray. I use the cigarette lighter as my main accessory socket. The wood on the top with the door closed looks a lot better than the cubby, at least to me.

I wondered about this.. I figured it was maybe open on the 128i and had a lid on the 135i. Looks like it might be retrofittable, for about $150 in parts.

And is getting the software update as easy as asking our SA to have the update performed? Or, was there a reason your car was updated?
