I'm in south africa and I've ordered two new 3's. Still need to decide on which one to get, depending on how much I can sell my current car for (Bmw 325ti compact)

I've ordered and will most likely chose the 320d (fuel consumption and tourqe)

Bmw 320d
Exclusive Package (Headlamp washer system, Bixenon, PDC,Rain sensor& auto lights control,Cd changer)
Sunroof
Fog lamps (not std on a 320d here)
comfort access (keyless go YAY)
and i want 17" wheels (possibly the starspoke styling 158)

Otherwise I might get a 325i
with and Exclusive pack and sunroof only.

I am torn between saphire black/graphite and terra/lemon interior.

Placed a deposit on a 330i 2 days ago and the sales woman expects the car to be in my garage in the next few days. There is otherwise quite a waitlist at the dealership here in town. Is it the same story elsewhere?

Wow thats soo quick

How did you manage to have you car just a few days after you ordered it?, thats pretty quick since mine is taking like around 14 weeks to get it here and I also went to BMW of Honolulu. Did you pay MSRP or did the sales person work a deal with you. Who was your sales rep there?. Well enjoy your car when you get it lemme know how you like it.

Aloha

 I have no idea. Tomorrow, it will be 3 weeks since I ordered my sparkling graphite, black int, 6 speed, sport, cold weather, 325. The car is still "on order".

The dealer had initially told me about 6 weeks total waiting time, but it doesn't look likely considering the car is not even scheduled for production yet. It just hurts...I can't take it anymore

If you find anything out, please let me know. I will call my dealer in another week (he promised me a loaner E46 for the last 2 weeks of the wait to apease me a little, and steer me away from getting an A4)

Actually, they showed me their inventory list and I selected a car out of that. It had pretty much the same things I would've ordered except instead of jet black I ended up with sparkling graphite. The sales woman I have is Tina. I also worked with a guy name Dale. Both of them are away this week in California for 3 series training.
My car has been unloaded from the Matson ships and is being preinspected for delivery to me!

Price

Did you pay MSRP or did she make a deal for you, have you ever owned and dealt with BMW of Honolulu before?, anyways yes my car should be here in a few weeks, but I still am hestitant since BMW loaner and service is below that of Mercedes, so I am starting to hesitate, oh Tina Sterling is the rep I ordered with as well.

I am paying MSRP for mine. Actually I have only put a $500 deposit but the only promise I have is no dealer mark up.
I like the E90 a lot but I am also worried about BMW's rep. I used to have a C-class and I was very happy with MB's service overall. Their loaners were great too. I was always given a C-class to drive. BMW in SF gives my sister $8 cab fare on her service days which only gets her half way home not to mention she is on her own on her return trip to pick up! BMW definitely is no Mercedes when it comes to the service department. My previous 2001 MB also seemed to have better interior quality even when compared with the 2006 330i I test drove. I am also a little concerned about the E90 being a first year model. The only reassurance is the full warranty. With that said, the BMW drives a lot better than the Benz. I am sure I will be very pleased with it until I start having problems.

It's finally here.... almost.
I called the dealer this morning and was told that the ship has docked at So. Cal. and the car is already on its way to the Bay area, while the owner's circle status keep showing the car is 'En Route.'

I didn't do the build-to-order, so the wait has only been about a month, but I will have to pay extra $2k for the premium I didn't want. But, it's alright, I think extra $2k will evetually makes its worth.

If you get Graco infant carseat with 'Metropolitan' color, it goes perfect with the black leather and Aluminum trim.

Yes I did pay MSRP as well, so I am not alone I heard that people on the mainland are getting between $ 500-1500 off MSRP so you might ask if she can do anything but I have my doubts since we cannot drive to the next BMW dealer like people on the mainland can. I think If we air our concerns about service and loaners to Tina, she can hopefully address that issue. I talked to the service rep and he said that each service advisor had only 2 cars assinged as loaners, which is pretty low. Well I hope you enjoy your car when it come in. Let us all know how you like it, and send some pics so they can see we have the great thing of living here in Hawaii and drive such nice car either a benz or bmw.

I "ordered" mine last weekend, I should have it this weekend It was in the port waiting to be spoken for by a dealer:

330i manual (a must!)
Sapphire Black
Black leather
Sports Package
Premium Package
Cold Package
iDrive
Park distance control

I feel VERY lucky to be getting it this quickly, but I've been waiting for a new BMW 3 series for MANY years (had one MANY years ago and been craving it ever since I sold it).
