Pirelli / F1 in Geneva

Apparently, Pirelli has been showing off their tires for the 2011 F1 season at the Geneva Auto Show. Looks like they put them on RBR, McLaren, and Ferrari's 2009 cars.

Quote:
To the uninitiated, the choice of tires in motor racing can look about as insignificant as what refreshments they're serving in the grandstands. But those in the know are all too aware of the enormous effect the right – or wrong – rubber can have on a race's outcome. So in the world of Formula One racing, the switch from Bridgestone to Pirelli as the official tire supplier is pretty big news.

The Italian rubber company is suitably proud of its selection, and to show off its wares, Pirelli brought a trio of contemporary grand prix racers – a Red Bull, a McLaren and a Ferrari, no less – to the Geneva Motor Show, wearing their new boots. These look to be last year's cars wearing this year's tires, but that's to be expected as the front-running teams in question frantically prepare their cars for the new season. Take a closer look in our high-res image gallery below.
Pics to come.

I should note these look like the 2009 cars with the newest 2011 liveries.

Very nice!!!

The RBR should be 2010 RB6 Chassis (pre side pod mirror ban), The McLaren is the 2009 MP4-24, and the Ferrari seemed like the 2004 (?)

Pretty sure the nose on that Red Bull is from the RB5.

You look at the packaging on the rear of the red bull and it just looks so much tighter and more efficient than it does on the macca.

BUt you never know which chassis RBR and McLaren has provided for this event. The package and development varies so much throughout the season.
Seemed like the MP4-24 was "pre DDD" was declared legal.

The Ferrari is pre-09. I really miss the old F1 cars, with the low rear wings. The modern era just looks...so UN-aerodynamic
