USB iPod connection problem

So the cable charges my ipod and aux works, but it wont let me go into the ipod option. it keeps telling me to "Insert USB" is it the cable problem or the USB hub problem

reconect the USB cable into the input, this happens to My Iphone. If that doesn't work your cable is probably faulty, should be covered under factory warranty.
