BMW Production Codes (Order Status reference chart)
Okay, now that we are REALLY close to actually getting our orders placed, all of us OCD people will be constantly wondering what status our production is in. Well, fear not, for there are production status codes assigned to your build.
Here they are: Code Description 0 Order deleted by NA 17 Order not Specified 37 Order is at BMW NA 87 Production Week Assigned 97 Order sent to AG 100 Order deleted by AG 101 Error in data transmitted 102 Special Order (no Prod Week) 105 Order out of Prod. Period 111 Order Accepted at AG 112 Order scheduled for Production 150 Production Started 151 Body Shop Started 152 Paint Shop Started 153 Assembly Started 155 Production Completed 160 Released to Distribution 168 AG Stock 170 Waiting Workshop 172 Planned for Workshop 174 Workshop Entry 176 Workshop Complete 180 Waiting for Export Dispatch 181 Waiting for Domestic Dispatch 182 AG Load No. -- Released to Carrier 190 Dispatched ex(port?) You can track your order online once your BMW dealer gets you a VIN number. Then you register to the BMW Owner's Circle and track everything about your order from there.

Awesome- thanks for the info! I have had 5 bmws but have always taken one "off the lot". Looking forward to tracking its progress (and actually getting it!):biggrin:

MINI had videos (not car specific) of the various production stages that was fun to watch as your car advanced through production. Someone even found a live cam at the port in England that showed MINIs staging for the transport ship.

Along with the production code (111), my dealer also gave me a seven digit 'production number'. Is that the VIN or are we talking different things here?

different things. you can use the prod # to log onto owner's circle from the bmw website!

It took about a week from learning my production number to getting the VIN (Production Scheduled, Status 112).

I'm guessing production is done, but the car is obviously not shipping as it will be delivered at the Welt. I hear that production for ED cars usually finishes about 10 days before delivery. Do you have your VIN yet, and if so when did you get it? I'm curious how soon I will have mine.
