Here's an update. Brought it in on Monday and just got it back today. Everything appears to be fine. Haven't closed the roof yet as it was raining today. Just glad it's done and I have it back.
The worst part was the customer service from the dealership. They outsource their loaner cars to Budget so I get to drive a crappy Jetta for 4 days. And, I go to pick up my car and they haven't washed it and the rear window has smears all over the inside. Brutal. Can't wait to get their survey on how they did.

Glad to hear your top got replaced quickly.
I've never gotten a BMW loaner from my dealer - it's generally a choice of an SUV or something small like a Yaris. Luckily, having 2 BMWs, I take the compact and only use it to get home and back. But not having the car washed is unacceptable. Perhaps you can speak to the service manager to insure better treatment next time. Tom |

Yeah, all in all the service itself was very good. They had the top in stock and I could have had it done two weeks ago if I didn't go out of town last week.
It was just the customer service part about not washing the car that peeved me. And, I've found out that the dealership does have some BMW loaners. You just have to request one when booking initially.

Another update for those interested. Now that it stopped raining for a few days and I have a dry top I decided to put the top down to see how well it was aligned.
Well, not so good. I did it four times. Three times it made a popping noise as it was almost in the storage under the tonneau. All three of these times it would not go all the way into the storage. It varied each time but it was as high as 2 inches to a low as a half an inch above where it should be. Each time the tonneau would not close properly. One time it did go all the way in. Since it's winter and the top is not leaking I'm not in a hurry to get in so I'll ask for the first appointment time where I can get a BMW loaner.
